Pit Boss® Platinum Series Lockhart Pellet/Smoker Combo Grill with Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth®

I moved up from my PitBoss Vertical smoker. This Platinum is a Great way to smoke different meats at the same times. One of my probes didn't work so I had to buy 2 more. I do love the Bluetooth ability on the grill as well. Overall, the best PitBoss I have to date.

This grill is awesome. You can cook steak on the bottom while smoking ribs on top! The heat flows from one to the other. The pellets allow for a greater range of flavors as well. This is an amazing price for such a versatile grill. Nothing like it on the market!

Got this for my boyfriend and he loved it! He used to have a smaller smoker and a separate grill, but this combines them both and is efficient! We have used it almost every day since we got it and can cook pretty much anything we eat on it. Definitely worth the investment

So far I am enjoying the unit but it has some flaws I'm trying to work with. Having issues with ash getting all over the grill inside and one of the smoke caps can't be adjusted it just spins but so far I'm enjoying it.

Not bad, but needs some improvement. The grill area and hopper are great, like my Platinum 1600 i used to have. The smoke box is really large and has such promise, but really, really needs better heat/temperature and smoke control. It also, SERIOUSLY NEEDS a Folding front shelf...BADLY!!!! My lovkhart must have been a leftover model, because it dows not have the extra handle on the ash clean out, however, the pull out ash dump is a huge improvement over my Platinum 1600. Also, the grill does not heat nearly as fast as my 1600 did, but I can get used to that. I do miss the "P" setting for smoke control, but I'll live. The SmokeIT app is pretty decent and nice since that is new to me. Aside from the difficulty in controlling the heat range for the Smoke Box, and REALLY NEEDING a folding front shelf, its a solid grill/Smoker for the money and as always, great warranty! I do recommend this unit for people with a little experience that want the upgrade. Not best for beginners.

For the price, expected better craftmanship, heavier grade steel, and NOT aluminum rivets. Assembly instructions demand the impossible, but creative manuevering not listed in instructions made it possible. "place 4" caster in 2" space on ground, then tighten screw from the bottom."

Smoker does not appear to actually have a internal sensor. It seems like it uses the grill temperature sensor to estimate the smoker temperature. The controller reported 155f and the of the probes were at 205 while on the smoker grates. It works fine but don't expect to set and forget the smoker. I expected more for 750$

There's no smoke or P setting on the smoker. The smoker box doors won't close and seal. I have to add a smoke tube or two to get decent short-term smoke. You have to crank the heat on the lower grill to heat the smoke box. The high heat burns through pellets at a fast rate. Overall, I would have returned it after my 2nd time using it if I could.

I bought this as a treat to myself and due to my current situation i had more time to focus on smoking meats for my family. After 2 weeks of consideration I jumped on it. Since that time i discovered that unlike other models, this one does not allow you to adjust the "P" setting which is used to increase or decrease the pause between pellet feeding. Doing this can increase your smoke output if done correctly. I have used this several l times thus far and thought it is great for grilling, it is not great for smoking. After 3 hours of smoking ribs, they had the same smoke quality has my fathers older pit boss after about one hour. This thing has great potential but essentially doesn't work for what i wanted. Also, after reaching out to pit boss i was told to add a smoke box.... this thing is not cheap, and if it is advertised as a smoker, it should make it's own smoke. Lastly, i was told that smoke is always being generated if there is heat... whether i see it or not. If this statement is true we might as well call all wood burning contraptions "smokers". I am disappointed in the product and the customer service.

I wish 0 stars was an option! Paid extra to get this shipped to the house, got it set up after a couple hours and got it plugged in and ready to go. Turned it on and it errored out with a fan fault. Called Pit Boss to troubleshoot and they sent me a replacement fan which, by the way, took a week to get. Just replaced it today and still getting the same error. Called then again and they want to send a replacement control board, which will take another 7-10 days shipping. At this point, I am returning it... I shouldn't have to throw parts at a BRAND NEW grill and wait weeks on end to hope a part fixes it. This has soured the Pit Boss brand for me and I will never purchase another grill from this brand.
