The engraver was perfect to engrave my 7 kids names on each of their electric tooth brushes (handle and heads). It’s efficient and easy enough to use. I like having the electric tooth brushes engraved, because all the tooth brushes look exactly the same and could easily be mixed up. Also engraving is truly permanent and it’s much better than using a permanent marker that smudges off the electric tooth brushes and on the hands overtime. I can imagine this being useful to engrave so many things, it worked great on the hard plastic for the electric tooth brush. The engraving is much more discrete than writing with a marker, so even if you don’t have excellent hand writing- it won’t look sloppy.
Tool performed exactly as described and excellent value for the money.
I have found so many uses for this engraver tool set. No matter what you want to engrave, there is a bit here for you. I do suggest you practice on an extra piece of wood or metal (or whatever you are planning to engrave) until you feel comfortable, but if you can use a pen...you can use this engraver! It's great for engraving items you want to be linked to you should they be lost, but it's also REALLY fun to engrave names on things as gifts. Craft stores have small wooden boxes for reasonable prices, and initials or names engraved on them make wonderful gifts!
I've never used an engraver before, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I imagined it would be somewhat of a challenge to engrave on items such as glass and metal. I was pleasantly surprised with how quick the engraving does, it's just a small learning curve to figure out the right way to engrave things that look good :) The tool sounds like a drill and vibrates in your hand, causing an unsteadiness that I have to get use to, but it engraves into the material nice and quick! The only flaw I've noticed, is the storage container for the engraving kit is really hard to get open. You can break a nail on that thing lol. Aside from that, everything appears great, and I can't wait to see what kind of projects I get into with this. Coasters, Hard, Rocks, and more, this is going to be fun!
It's pretty easy to use. It would be more convenient to have a built in rechargeable battery in my opinion. Also it could spin a bit faster but it's ok for light work. Beginner friendly.
So … I got this engraving set wanting to try my hand at engraving some crafts … wood stones etc.( I am a craftaholic … however I have never tried engraving before) First off let me say I am probably not very good at it … my hands are nowhere near steady as I had hoped they would be for engraving but that aside , this is a very handy item to own for a crafter. It is quite simple to use and has a lot of handy attachments… 3 engraving tips for different surfaces and also bugging grinding And sanding tips to polish and round iff edges if need be It runs on batteries snd was quiet to my surprise. I used the conical tip on a piece of wood to see how easy or difficult it would be… very simple.
batteries dont last very long and the cutting/engraving power isnt very strong either. took me almost 45 minutes to complete something that should have taken me 2 minutes
the batteries die so quickly that after the first few uses it slows down and needs fresh batteries. i was using it on basswood which is a soft wood but it might not be that good for wood in general. which makes me believe it will be useless on stone as well. dont waste your money.
I never received the item
The battery life. I always had to constantly change the batteries I brought it back to the store it's very weak and power. the best thing to do is buy a real tool.
