Pleasant Hearth CG30 30" Cast Iron Grate

we needed a new grate, and didn't want to spend alot..and found this one at walmart online, after amazon wouldn't deliver to a p.o. box unless we paid huge shipping fees..so...walmart's delivery to store free..and the price were right on..used it today for the first time..it does what its supposed to do..seems very sturdy..has the shorter legs which work fine in our mobile home fireplace, which is on the smaller size..but fit the 18 inch grate just perfectly...buy it..!

I like this because it's not very heavy because of its compact size and I like how small the openings are so that the wood doesn't thought through when you're trying to stoke the fire.

Fits great for my cabin's wood burning stove. Very affordable and keeps wood elevated away from the ashes for great burning without going out. Very satisfied.

This fireplace grate is very sturdy and holds up to having fires every night. The legs being straight down ensures they don't bow out under heat.

I haven't had a chance to use this product so that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. It fit my fireplace just right and seems sturdy. I will know more when I use it to see if it's durable.

awful !! not as advertised at all !!! sits ONE INCH or less from the bottom where ventilation is necessary and not what was described!!! now we have to haul it back to walmart !!!! thanks for wasting our time and money waiting for this to arrived actually later than what was listed for arrival !!!!

Recieved grate USED with ash on it and a poorly done "paint job" in attempts to cover it up. Grate was also BROKEN, piece was not in box so clearly was shipped out in this condition.. very poor company standards. This is the second time I purchased this grate (first was also cracked on grate but not an entire piece missing!), thought I'd give them a second chance but second purchase was even worse. Shop a different brand!

if I were to put this in my wood burning stove as hot as it gets, I guarantee it would melt and that's not a mess nor an expense I'm willing to fix. I shouldn't have even been able to lift the box. This thing is so light I could lift it with one finger. I didn't even open it! Its going back! The existing one I have in my stove I could barely lift with one hand and they're both the same size I guess that's the difference with cast iron and rod iron.

Here's an update to my original review. It is now 10 Jan and there's a hole big enough to throw a golf ball through. So this grate hasn't even made it through one season! Might be OK for those who want to create a romantic ambiance or occasional use, but NOT for the serious fireplace user!
