I really like this game, it’s my first time playing any Pokémon game that isn’t Pokémon Go. Me and my boyfriend are playing the games together (he got Pokémon scarlet 🙄) and it’s very fun!
my daughter loves the game. so many new things to explore
I asked my gamer grandson what do you like for Christmas and he chose this game. I don't know anything about the new gaming systems last game I bought was for my Atari
I already owned scarlet and knew I wanted Violet too. Along with Arceus, the 3 games line up pretty well. And the stories in scarlet and violet are just different enough that I say it's worth getting both.
9 year old son really wanted this game. Paid for with his save money so finding the best price was big for us. Walmart beat the price of all competitors including Nintendo online.
I purchased this for my son who LOVES Pokemon, and he has really enjoyed the game. I don't know much about it because the Pokemon world is kind of foreign to me. But he has nothing but great things to say about it. He's had it for almost a month now, and it's still his favorite to play. (Usually by now he's gotten interested in a new game.) The game itself works fine and we've had no glitches or other issues. He's now saving his money to get another one in the series.
My son whom I bought this for told me that the game was a bit "laggy" and froze in some spots but despite the frustration of those things he loved it. He talks about insistantly. Lol. One downside however is now he wants the downloadable DLC which will cost an extra $35 through the Nintendo online shop. Yikes!!
Lots of interesting ideas that would be great if they fully finished it. The world in this game is still buggy and horribly animated. The NPC's are very choppy moving around sometimes only refreshing once every second or two. The battles are much less animated than I expected. There is no player movement during the battle, the Pokemon attacks are a lot less animated... it just feels a lot more static than what we got in legends arceus. The world itself is very badly textured, it looks like you are walking across green carpet with barley moving grass and trees thrown on top. The camera constantly cuts under the world and displays the big white void underneath it. The menus lag a little and don't look as good as they did in legends. Overall I would say this feels more like a game in beta devolpment than a finished game. The npc animations are very bad, the world feels like a giant carpet with stuff thrown on it that doesn't integrate with it very well, the camera keeps going underneath the world, the battles are static compared with the battles we got in legends... Hopefully there will be some patches!
Item came damaged, opened and missing the manual. Walmart is replacing but I have to find a FedEx place to return it. Very inconvenient in our small county :(
What a horrible game. Barely runs so mechanics, movement, and spawns are frustrating while button mapping and menu navigation is utterly insane. Most of the best characters have built in time wasters that require you to put in significant amounts of time just to be able to win a single online match with said character. Overall it's just a massive frustrating waste of time that's only occasionally enjoyable when a battle plays smoothly. Load times and trying to find certain items/characters will take up more of your time than actually battling, but it's Pokemon so people will still buy it. Along with a second or even THIRD version of the SAME console just to get it to run properly. This economy is wonderful.
