I'm gonna make chili tomorrow in my crockpot and that's what I got these for they're great reasonably priced and you should get you some. It's turning fall couple weeks.
I like these crackers, as they are so versatile. The price is right. During the holidays, I make different kinds of snack mixes out of them for gifts. Very easy and popular. These are my go to.
I don't know many brands of oyster crackers, but Nabisco oyster crackers as far as superior to any other brand I'm aware of they're good class and nice shape and they're crispy and crunchy. I use a lot of them because I make a lot of oyster Cracker nibbles as a treat for my friends and to have at social events. I don't know anyone who doesn't like them. You used to have a recipe for Oyster Cracker nibbles on your hidden Valley ranch dressing mix box.,, You don't have it anymore. My recipe is similar. I add pecans to mine and that makes them a little more special. I'm sorry, I just mixed up a batch last night and the empty bags are in the garbage truck this morning. I can't take a picture, but you can!
These soup crackers have ALL others beat, hands down! They are light, crispy and always fresh! Just the right amount of salt! I put these on salads and use them in making my meatloaf! They make great " nibblers" for a crispy snack too! The price might be a bit higher than the cheaper generic brand, but there is NO comparison to these light, fluffy, crisy saltine taste! These are a winner!
Nabisco brand costs two and a half times as much as the great value brand. Ouch! However, they don't have the faint cardboard taste to them that so many bargain brands do. Sometimes I think that they deliberately make the cheap brands taste horrible just to get you to buy the exorbitantly priced name brand. Despite the price, I do recommend these over the other brands. I've never been disappointed by the taste or by them being soggy (unless you leave the bag open). If you're just feeding hungry kids, they really don't pay too much attention to what food tastes like (except spinach and brussel sprouts) so you can give them the bargain brands and keep the good stuff for yourself. Note: These don't do as well for things like meatloaf and such as saltines do.
Makes an easy appetizer or snack. check out recipe at https://www.hiddenvalley.com/recipe/hidden-valley-oyster-crackers/. I left out dill, used garlic powder, cayenne, Worcestershire and a little dried mustard. Make it your own!
We have not had these in over 3 years i didn't realize they sold them here at Walmart I only thought it was a New England thing
good flavor but flat crackers. not pillow puffy like oyster crackers should be. were spoiled around here because westminster crackers is a few towns over and makes real oyster crackers. the ones restaurant use for clam chowda
The bag was ripped open…I'm assuming it happened at the cashier area…not sure if should eat them 😞. A few are inside the Walmart bag.
I don't have a problem with Nabisco Oyster Crackers but having them shipped to me was a mistake. Walmart used my crackers as packing material for other heavier items in the box! Save yourself the trouble and just go to the store to buy them. :) I won't make this mistake again.
