Good real New England clam chowder
The "New England " part of the name means thrifty. Clams were once very cheap in the waters off the New England coast. before the population exploded. When that happened and the price of clams and the availability of clams dropped thrifty New Englanders adapted by introducing additional components to the soup to keep the experience similar. This is not a soup where every spoonful has a large price of clam in it or a sauce thickened with cream. It is a starch sauce infused with the fla vor of clams and with chunk of potatoes and pieces of clam to provide the flavor and texture. It tastes and feels good in the mouth, like a classic potatoe soup with some clams and juices added and "bad stuff" reduced. It's one of my staples.

Husband likes this flavor for lunch or a light dinner. Texture not bad. Can serve with a salad or maybe a vegetable.

Soup or Salad? rhetorical question right?
Great soup. fast food that is actually good for you. Makes you feel warm inside and out. Fills that empty spot winter weather gives you. Heat it up and eat it up. Grilled cheese to complete the meal.

Best soup ever
My husband and I love this soup. It taste like someone made it fresh in the kitchen minute's before. Even the potatoes taste real. Now with a piece of garlic bread. I am in heaven. So good!

i really like this new england clam chowder except it does have a lot of sodium. but if you only eat 1 cup of it and nit the whole can in one day its not bad. and its great for people like me who need more sodium due to low sodium

No Clams!
Sorry, but the can(s) I received had no clams in them, just the soup with little flavor except plenty of white pepper. I prefer the Progresso brand with plenty of clams and that flavor, and it's also richer. BTW, this is the first Campbell's soup product I've ever been dissatisfied with!

I Will no longer Purchase Campbells Products due to the taste change after the Company start using Bioengineered" ingredients . The taste drastically change to something awful and Watery . Not comfortable feeding my Family anything grown in a Lab for higher Production,

This stuff honestly tastes like unflavored chunks of potatoes in water. Zero flavor. And the soup is so bland you can't even taste the potatoes! Thats an achievement in it's own right
