Love these scoops! So much better than using plastic. I use the large one to scoop my cat's dry food. The small one I use to scoop life. The medium I use in the kitchen for a variety of things. Absolutely love these! Will probably buy another set.
When I saw these I had to have them. They look just like the ones my great grandmother always used in her kitchen. She used to sit me on the counter while I watched her cook. She always had the big spoon in a box she used for flour. This set comes with 3 spoons. 1 cup. 1/3 cup and and 1/4 cup. Nostalgic for me and I am sure many others who grew up in their grandmothers kitchen.
These aren’t measuring spoons, the largest is a cup, but they’re great for scooping out the flour and sugar in the bins. I especially like the larger one because I use the “scoop” method instead of sifting when baking cookies, and usually one or two big scoops does it! They’re super heavy duty and I think they’ll be around for a good while. Photo is of large scoop, soup can for scale.
Like most people I used a typical measuring cup to get flour out of my canister. Usually with a lot of flour on the countertop. These scoops work much better without all the mess.
These are great! I especially like that I can make Pumpkin Bread etc. .and measure equal amounts into mini loaves. My plastic scoop broke so I searched for stainless steel. Of course, they are perfect for measuring food servings and I'm sure you are thinking of many ways that would benefit you.
These Prep Solutions Stainless Steel Measuring Scoops are accurate. They come as a 3 piece set...Large is 1 cup (8 ounces), medium is 1/3 cup (2.7 ounces), small is 1/4 cup (2 ounces). I measured liquid and level dry ingredients, both were accurate. Each scoop has a handle that is 5 3/4 inches. The handles are each labeled with the measurement. There is a hole in the end of each handle, so these can be hung for storage...or you can nest them inside of eachother for drawer storage. They are medium weight and have a polished finish. Dishwasher safe. They are nice and will get lots of use in our kitchen.
You can’t go wrong with stainless steel kitchen utensils or appliances. They’re super sleek and can match just about anything . These seem quite industrial although they still fit in my drawer nicely. And they are perfectly shaped so that you can scrape the top to get a perfect measurement. I would buy some more smaller ones .
This is a strong sturdy product and looks as if it will last for years. The main problem I have with this set is that it does not have a half cup scoop. I’m guessing the manufacturer is relying on the ¼ cup scoop to be used twice to measure up to a half a cup; however, it has been well proven that the more times you have to measure out a smaller amount to achieve a larger amount, you lose product hence throwing the Final weight off. It would have made more sense just to include a half cup scoop.
I was shocked when I received these to see how long the handles are -- they are so long I can't think of any use for them! The largest scoop (1 cup) is 11" long. 11" long?! And the two smaller ones (1/3 cup and 1/4 cup) are 9.5" long each. These are gargantuan for measuring scoops. There is no canister or container that will hold these inside, and they are too large to take up that much space in a drawer, either (which would also mean washing a scoop after each usage to measure something out), so I won't be using these. I thought it was fantastic that they were stainless steel, and otherwise they look like very good quality, but the handles are just way too long to be useful!
Used and washed these literally 3 times and they are rusting!
