A 100% Great Buy!

Rita August 26, 2025

I Highly Recommend this product to everybody! You get alot more colors in this set, that you do not get in the smaller sets. I've needed 3 different shades of yellow or pink while coloring in an Adult Coloring Book, and I only could find 2 different shades before. I also love the soft core Prismacolor premier colored pencils. There's nothing else like them!

Drawing pencils

Victoria September 17, 2025

This is my go to for all of my artistic needs other than certain types of hands, snap pencils, but paints wear pants. These pencils are the best for color, adaptation and blending. It can make something that is artificial in front of you allow your mind to actually create the living thing that you want to display on paper.

These are still great pencils when treated well

Michael April 8, 2023

The pencils arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Out of 150 pencils only a few had off-center cores. I've used Prismacolors for almost 40 years and as far as I can tell the quality of the leads isn't that different than what they used to be. I did comparisons between different generations of the pencils and they all lay down the same. I own Berol prismas that were manufactured in Mexico in the late 80s as well stock manufactured in the US. Colors and blendability are the same as the US manufactured stock. I've had crumbled leads and separation from the wood in any generation. While unfortunate it's not a deal-breaker. Tips I've learned over the years: Use a sanding block to sharpen an off-centered pencil. Crumbled leads can be repaired in an unheated oven at 250 degrees for about 20-30 minutes. Let them cool in oven and test. If not satisified then repeat the process. Always use a light hand when coloring and you'll greatly reduce the chance of the pencil lead breaking. Lightly layer the colors and you can achieve better results than with a heavy hand. A blender pencil is great for extending color but it adds added bloom-causing wax. Use a spray matte fixative on your finished work to eliminate or reduce wax bloom.

What Difference A Pencil Makes

PATRICIA November 19, 2025

Based on YouTube reviews I wanted to give Prismacolor a try. I find that I am using less pressure on the pencil and getting more color on the paper. There is more control while shading. Blending is a lot easier. The inexpensive brand was waxy. It took too much effort to get color on paper; I will be investing in more Prismacolor pencils. Delighted!

Worth the upgrade

Sam June 9, 2026

Buttery as usual. Decided I wanted a bit more color options after using the 24 pack for a while, and I'm super happy with it.

I have always loved these pencils. The only bad thing is there are certain colors that do not sharpen well and break. Im trying to find a better sharper.

Great colored pencil and great retailer.

Harry October 21, 2020

Have not found a better colored pencil. No other pencil feels the same that I have ever used. They do have there issues such as off Center leads and broken leads more than I like But I can live with it.
