Proctor Silex Compact 2 Slice Toaster, Extra-Wide Slots, White, 22611PS

This is a great little toaster, the walls stay cool to the touch so no accidental burns for the kids or yourself by bumping up against it. Doesn't take long for the toast to come up perfectly brown, just don't set it too high..haha. It does toast great but the higher temps will cause the toast to burn. I like not having to set it on high, I used to wait and wait for my toast on my last toaster because I had to turn it way up to get light brown toast. The toaster handles bagels, thick sliced bread, and all breakfast toaster items. It isn't too big so it doesn't take a lot of room on your valuable counter space, and that is a huge plus as there is never enough counter space. :) I would recommend this toaster to anyone, great product.

This is the first toaster I have ever gotten that has actually did not burn the toast. It is also amazing with bagels. My kids and I have always have had a bagel issue till now. I am so happy and I would buy this toaster ten times over. I am actually considering buying them for Christmas presents for my whole family I like it so much. I just kind of wish it had four slots instead of two. Also, the tray it has underneath for the crumbs is the best invention ever!!!! Good job Hamilton me and my family are very happy to finally not have burnt toast!!!

I received this Hamilton Beach 2-slice Cool-Wall White Toaster from Sparks Reviewer. It works as promised. I set the shade selector to the middle and it toasted my toast perfect just like I like. I like the fact that if I toast my mini bagels, the handle can be pushed up more after the mini bagel has toasted to be able to get the mini bagel out of the toaster without burning my fingers. The slots are wider so you can toast thicker slices of bread. Recommend this Hamilton Beach Toaster.

The toaster I received for free as a Spark reviewer was the basic Proctor Silex "Durable" toaster. When I contacted the Spark review program they indicated I should post the review using this link and it would be placed on the correct toaster's page. This is a good basic toaster, with wider then normal "slots" that will hold half a bagel or English muffin. It works well, but is NOT a cool-wall toaster, so you need to be sure to keep plastic bread wrappers away from the outside. The settings work as expected and the "boost" option brings the toast far enough out of the slot so you can retrieve it easily. It is a good basic toaster, but I would not pay more than $15 for it, as they are available locally for $10 or less on sale. Again if you are looking for a good basic toaster without any "bells or whistles" this is a good choice for you. You can toast bread, English muffins or bagels and they will come out as expected based on the setting you choose.

I got this toaster and it is very lightweight, white and quiet. When you use it the handle goes down and it does its thing. When done it just pops up and that is that....if near it you will see the toast is done, when you are not that close you won't know. The dial when set on the second setting makes for some nicely light toast but as you make more you find it getting darker and darker. the cord is not too long so you have to have it fairly close to an outlet or outlet strip. The sides of the toaster remain cool through out the toasting process and that is a plus should your arm get too close to it. The only thing is the toast MUST be placed into the toaster "rounded end" up for if it is not placed that way it will not rise totally when the lever is up.

there is not much you can say about a toaster. there is a feature that i think is good and that would be that you can raise the toast up higher if the bread you are using are small slices.compact and easy to use toast beard well with out much adjustments

I wanted this toaster to replace my Proctor Silex toaster that I have had for many years now. My Proctor Silex still works very well, I just needed something just in case my old one gave out on me. My first time using the Hamilton Beach Toaster was not a very good experience. I set the timer in between two and three, the exact same setting I have on my old toaster. I had to put the bread in twice for it to brown exactly like i wanted. This toaster is very nice looking and the knobs are a bit fancier than mine, but it just does not do the job of toasting that my old Proctor Silex does. I have posted a picture of my toast after the second try with the same settings as my old toaster. The toast is perfect but after having to insert it twice. Maybe I just have to work with it more, hopefully with more use I will learn to adjust it correctly. I don't think I have ever used this brand of toaster before. Other than the timing problem I really like the Hamilton Beach toaster. I would probably recommend this product.

The good: I like the white, the toast boost which lifts the toast higher to take it out with out burning fingers, crumb tray, auto shut off and has a cancel setting if you need to change your mind about the darkness, cool touch sides are a must! The bad: For some reason items like bagels are not too wide but too tall for the slots. Seems I never get it all the way in to toast the whole piece at one time, see picture with bagel in and toaster on. Also the settings are a mystery, good one time and not the next. Basically once I put the bread, bagel etc in I dont want to leave it because I dont know if I will have to stop it from burning or start it again for more toasting. If you need a inexpensive toaster that you only use on a rare occasion then this might work fine for you. If your the kind of person who uses this every day then I would not get this one.

This toaster is quite small, and takes only the smallest pieces of bread. A standard slice of Weber bread would not go in far enough to toast the top inch or more of the bread. Also, the bread looks toasted, but is still soft inside. This isjust not a quality toaster. Looks and performance leaves a lot to be desired! I tried english muffins too. They fit ok, but I had to use a fork to get them back out. The instructions say not to put pop tarts in the toaster either! WHAT???

Just fits a regular size piece of bread in each slot. The top of the bread in any other size ends up not being toasted. We found we can flip the bread over and toast again to get the top part of the bread toasted which is a bit of a pain. Don't recommend this item. Toasting a bagel is out of the question. I have had it for a couple weeks, as we do not use it often, and may keep it. I would recommend paying a few extra dollars for a decent size toaster that will do any size piece of toast.
