Nice gadget. When weighing something, the red dial carries the black one along and leaves it the final weight measured, so you don't have to twist and peek while straining to hold the weight up (I weighed a 27-lb. dumbbell). It's accurate, too.

It prefromed as needed to weigh our luggage before checking in. Recomend this before you need to unpack at the airport and throw clothes out in the trash or have your personal belongings for all to see.

Everything about this product seems to be good and OK. The product price was also good. The proof will come when my granddaughter goes to the airport and they weigh her bags. Hopefully her bags will weigh the same as what this baggage scale says.

The Protege manual travel luggage scale with strap holds up to an eighty-pound bag. It is super easy to use. It has a hanger attached, and you just hang it on something high enough to prevent the baggage from touching the ground. You simply hang the scale and attach the bag using the the strap on the bottom of the scale. The strap has a snap on it so that your luggage is secure. You'll see the red and black hands move on the scale and when you remove the luggage the black hand will stay on the weight of your bag so that if you are anything like me, you won't have to reweigh: it saves it for you. Once you no longer need the weight you easily twist the black knob on the front of the scale to return the black hand to zero. The scale is now ready for the next baggage to be weighed. This scale is also small enough to be carried easily. It is a great design and ready to use!

It alone is lightweight and easy to use, just strap hook to luggage the pull and raise up the luggage with scale and gives you a reading the black dial will land on the reading. I feel it gives accurate reading i have tested it on items knowing their weight. Is compact so you can travel with.

No more opening your luggage, exposing all your belongings at the airport, only to pull a few items out to “lighten” your suitcase. You will easily know before you leave for the airport just how much your luggage weighs. This devise never needs batteries, so no worries if it will work. It’s small enough so as to not take up much room. Can be used to weigh other items, too. ie; bowling ball.

simple technology, but the red arm that is supposed to show the maximum reading doesn't stay at that point, and slides back with the black arm. Therefore, you need to read the weight while holding up the bag. Also, the reading was inconsistent, fluctuating from 49-55 lb for my bag that ended up being 50.0 lb.

you need two people to take weight measurement: one to lift the load and another to read the dial. the black pointer should stay in the weighted position upon putting the load. But it doesn't. it creeps back along with the red pointer when unloading, thus the reading is lost. alternately one could videograph the loading unloading while the camera is pointed at the dial. the device is unacceptable.

Was very hard to operate. The read out was not accurate Made it difficult to judge weight. Should have went for the digital model. I had previously purchased a standard digital body weight scale and weight myself then picked up the luggage and deducted the difference and that was way more accurate and best for not going over the max weight limit on luggage. Would tell people to avoid product. Appreciate the company helping make things better. Best regards Thomas

Protege Manual Travel Luggage Scale with Strap, 80lb Capacity works, but it is FAR less convenient than a simple scale. First of all, it's rather shaky to lift a bag with this scale. Secondly, it's pretty awkward to lift a 50 pound bag with this scale. I prefer the regular scale.
