The odor was minimal, there was no need for a mask if you're doing it outside. I look forward to using Varathane products again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the color of this stain and is exactly what I was expecting. I used it to transform a few old picture frames that I am turning into new projects. It did a great job covering imperfections and giving them a fresh look. It is easy to apply and it dries pretty fast. If you're using it indoors, I recommend using a mask and opening your windows. I decided to do it in the yard. It has a pretty thick texture, so it is more similar to paint than a traditional stain, but that is what I needed for my project. It definitely helps if you are trying to cover up scratches, aging signs, etc. A little bit goes a long way, so a big can will last me for a lot of DIY projects.

It applies easily and penetrates the wood deeply and evenly. I would say that it does take awhile for it to complete dry and be sure to look for and wipe up any excess stain. Looks great and I am so excited to see all the possibilities.

We used it to stain a bench and also to stain some wood pieces in our living room. I was worried the smell might be too strong, but it dissipated quickly and is beautiful!

It is incredibly smooth and easy to apply with a brush or a lint free cloth, I prefer the cloth for wiping in the grain. What a beautiful outcome, it's fast drying, 2 hours and you can apply a 2nd coat
