I raised a baby mallard first off the flock raiser crumbles and then on the duck pellets until she was able to be released at five months. I gave her the choice many times, but she intuitively knew the right timing that she wanted to leave. She's a beautiful bird and has joined a flock at the lake. The only problem is the ducks love this food so much that I'm going through 240 pounds a month. Some of the ducks there are domestic ducks that people have dumped and others are ducks that were catch and release. If there's anyway Purina could help us out with a few bags now and then if you have overstock, that would be great. Thank you so much for helping me grow a strong duck, and keeping the other ducks at the lake healthy! She and the other ducks would not have grown into beautiful healthy ducks if it weren't for this food. Im so proud of her. With the Mallard population down 23% for the first time in history, I am really glad that I can be of service by feeding them this food.
We get these pellets from our locally owned feed store. They've always been exactly what we expected. Lately the last handful of bags has came with about 10 to 12 pounds worth of powder versus are typical 4 to 5 lb of powder. This has actually helping lower our feed cost of not having to grind up the pallets or buy another bag of duck crumbles to mix in for our one special male who's bill was broken when we received him. That in turn helps my daughter as these babies are apart of her supervise educational experience.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My ducks love purina Duck feed! They have eaten it since they were babies, my turkeys love the game feed as well!
The ducks really munch it down and love it.
Very well received by my ducks. They loved it
The ducks and ducklings love the food.
I have been using the Duck feed 40# bag for over a year. I buy 2 bags a month. I have a complaint about one bag that I purchased that was mostly dust. I had to buy another bag to get through the month. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford extra feed.
Very disappointed in the 40 lb bag. I bought the smaller bag and the pellets were great and my ducks loved it. The large bag is ALL powder. Please fix this issue purina! Disappointing
Just open a bag of 40lbs duck pellets and found some bugs throughout the bag after I put into the duck storage bin
I bought this for my house duck. Within months her lab work came back abnormal and her urine smelled acidic/sweet. The vet thought I had been feeding her large amounts of bread. I do not think this is healthy at all. I've since switched back to Mazuri.
