My cat is very picky. I want him to eat healthy but didn't like most of the healthy foods until I got Purina pro plan . Now I'm having to pick his bowl up until time to eat. I don't know if it helps with allergies yet. Have not been long enough. Will add update later.

My Cat's New Fancy Feast (Minus the Fancy)

damian June 18, 2026

I bought this big bag because the label promised allergen reduction, which apparently is a perk for humans, not for my feline overlord. The moment I opened the bag, a wave of salmon and rice aroma hit the kitchen like a low-budget seafood commercial. My cat, Sir Whiskers, trotted over, sniffed, and immediately decided the kibble size was perfect for his delicate, dainty paws. The pieces are tiny enough that he could eat them in a single swipe, which makes him look like a ninja on a mission to empty the bowl before I can even say “treat.” I've also noticed occasional whitefish and shrimp flakes hidden among the salmon nuggets, as if the manufacturers wanted to throw in a surprise cameo. Sir Whiskers goes crazy for those bits, tossing his head back like he's auditioning for a fish-fighting movie. The big bag itself is impressive - it's the size of a small laundry detergent container, so I feel like I'm feeding my cat from a treasure chest. The bag's zip lock holds up well, and the kibble stays fresh, which is a bonus because the last time I bought a smaller bag the leftovers turned into a crumbly sandcastle that my cat ignored. As for the “allergen reducing” claim, the vet gave it a thumbs-up, apparently because the formula eliminates certain proteins that trigger human allergies, not because my cat suddenly becomes hypo-allergenic. I'm not sure how that works, but I'm happy to let science have its day. My cat seems content, the litter box stays clean, and I haven't had to dodge any sneezes while cooking dinner. If you're looking for a high-protein, small-kibble, ocean-themed feast that comes in a bag big enough to make you feel like you're feeding a small herd of cats, this is the one. Just don't expect it to turn your cat into a hypo-allergic miracle worker - that's still up to the vet and maybe a bit of magic.

Great item but very expensive.

Ernest March 29, 2026

I have a couple of cats that have severe dander problems and this item has for the most part alienated the problem. It's a great item but it is expensive. It's one of the things you'd like to use but sometimes can't afford because of the price but I would recommend it if you can afford it.

I have always been allergic to cats, so never had any inside our home. I inherited my sister’s indoors cat so tried this product. We’re able to live together with no problems with allergies.

Really works!

This cat food really works, it helps keep my allergies to my cat dander at bay. I noticed when I used a different cat food for a short time and my sneezing and itchy eye came back

Expensive but handy for allergy/asthma cat people

Nicole November 8, 2024

Very expensive, which makes it unsustainable for the pet rescue I volunteer for so if Purina ever decides to lower the price or offer coupons, I think a lot more cats could get adopted because I rescued this one and because my son and I both have asthma and are all allergic to her. We spent had to feed her the special food out of pocket, but it definitely slows down the amount of albuterol we need. Profoundly effective

Ciara October 1, 2024

My Husband is very allergic to cats, so bad that he breaks out into hives if he touches one. However, the dude still loves cats. We took in a stray and fell in love with her so we started looking for options to help him. After 3 weeks of feeding her this food, all his symptoms went away. No joke. It was like black magic. I still can't believe how well this stuff works. And I'm happy to report it works so well we got a second cat on purpose this time. See proof of two cats in picture.

About the same price as Amazon but I get it at Walmart as an addition to my other items I am picking up.

Really Expensive Cat Food!

MapGuy July 22, 2020

Well, the cat likes it. Does it live up to the claim about reducing allergens in cat hair and dander? How do you measure or quantify that? The one thing I am sure of is: the price is totally outrageous.
