I regularly buy bags of compost in bulk good for the next few years to bit the price. I was using cow manure compost but the quality has deterioted while the price has gone up. I was glad to find this product from WalMart. It is the kind of compost I am looking for my vegetable garden to mix with coco coir and peatmoss and pine bark fines. I used to go around my neigboring fruit stand to pick up their produce waste adding to my compost. The product just came out and reviews were not available when I bought them. Based on how Denali comp source of material and processesing system, I was not surprised what's in the bag. Rich, dark, moist and clean smell of compost. There were a few pieces of plastic or maybe sticker that were attached with some fruits and vegetable but easy enough to pick and disposed. The common pieces of wood chips found in comost also keep the soil loose. For the price and quality, this is a winner. PLUS.......minimum of 8 bags for FREE delivery from WalMart. I think, this idea of WalMart partnering or working with a composting company or recycling sustainable materials is one of the best ever. Good for the earth and helps WalMart business.
In a world of ‘mostly wood chips, and plastic waste' in lots of the bagged soil and compost options available, this stuff is exceptional! Seemed like super high quality composted organic matter. Very happy with it, and my vegetable garden is thriving with this mixed in to my raised beds and pots.
This looks just like finished compost without all the mulch. It was loose and not packed hard like some. I like that they're taking the throwaways from grocery stores and restaurants and making the compost. I make compost but not always enough. I just started using it and mixed it with other soils so I'll have to update after my garden season is over.
The only thing that makes me put a 4star rating for ease of use is that (for me) these bags are very heavy. Yet, the last person to deliver them was a woman who was slinging these around like they were nothing! So, that said, this is great compost. After the first time using (last year) the soil in my raised beds is beautiful. Before adding this compost the soil was terrible and hard to work with. Now it's a dream! I will continue to use this in my garden. Grew everything from big, bodacious flowers to vegetables and melons.
Great product, my cherry tomato and other plants thrive in this compost soil I mixed under. So far I haven't had any issues with this product. No complaints 🤗
Looks and smells good. Mixed with repotting soil.
easy to spread, full of good nutrients for plants, not too heavy to lift.
I don't think I can adequately review compost until my plants have grown (or not) but here goes. I have 4 10 gallon grow bags that I split one bag of this compost and 4 cu ft of potting soil between. I decided to add compost because everything tells you that's helpful to feed your plants. I liked the concept of Recirculate using food that would otherwise be wasted. The compost itself was pretty chunky but you just need to break it up real well. I did find a tiny piece of plastic trash in my bag but that might just be proof that they used a bunch of “trash food”. I can't really tell by the looks of it how helpful it will be to my vegetables, but I couldn't beat the price. If my plants come up successfully I would raise my rating to 5 stars….so we will see.
They were way too many huge chunks in it far from being composted.. I mean 5 and 6 in chunks of wood. I tossed them in my wood chip mulch bag and used the rest as compost. but most of it was too big to be compost.. there were even rocks in it!
I ordered from the Walmart and had it delivered. Had two deliveries and am missing multiple items. They did however, say they deliver them, but they are not there. The drivers do not give you a receipt or anything until after they click the button and said it was delivered so I have no way of knowing what is on that order until they are gone. I will never order from Walmart again. This is ridiculous. Now I have to try to get my money back on multiple items.
