I bought 2 of these small whistles as protection and a gift. They are on lanyards and weigh very little. Comfortable to wear while hiking and a hopeful deterrent to a bear or mugger. I haven't tried it full force yet as I don't want to disturb my neighbors. I expect a very loud whistle.

This whistle is small in size and very light weight , fits nicely on a key chain or back pack without bulk . The whistle is loud as it should be . And the build is pretty much unbreakable . Does its job .

I bought two Red Alert Whistles. One for me and one for my sister. Our bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house and the whistles are perfect to alert in case of an emergency. The whistles are ear piercing loud and carry a long distance. I'm sure they would deter an aggressor and alert someone that you were in danger while out in public. I'm so happy that I chose this particular one. With the lanyard attached the whistle is a touch away at all times.
