High quality MPPT Controller. Currently I have it hooked up to (5) 100 watt Renogy Solar panels and (2) 12v Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate 100ah batteries and a 3000 watt Renogy Inverter. I plan on adding (2) more batteries in the future. This system is functioning flawlessly thus far. I am currently running a Instant On Boiler and (3) circulating pumps as whole house heating system. Paired with the BT-1 module it is easily monitored.
I have 3 of the Rover 100 Amp MPPT Solar Charger's in use and 1 still in the box for a spare. I've had no problems with any of them and they have been running for about 9 months. I would definitely recommend these chargers!!!
MPPT is the only way to go. 400 wants in series parallel and the 48 volts are converted in to well over 22 amps. The controller is rock solid.
Recharged battery bank in half of the time as my 40 amp
Took the place of 3 electrical units and does a fantastic job. Wow.
I installed the Rover60 to replace a Rover40. I added extra solar capacity to provide better battery recharging for the winter. This also provided me with a backup controller in event of failure.
Works as designed. The Bluetooth module is a must. Going to buy another to increase my ability to charge my 400ah bank. The app is not the greatest, still trying to figure it out. There are a couple different ones and I prefer the Renogy bt version better than the home. Took about a week to get in the mail, Amazon prime gets stuff to you much quicker.
I like the ease of operation, but feel a need for some improvements for installation. I think the wire clamps for attaching solar panels etc. need to be more substantial and easier to open and close. I would also like to have the labels at the entry points of the individual wires be marked on the front of the controller- it was nearly impossible to see how to line them up with the correct connecting point once the controller was mounted on the wall.
The product is working very well. It was difficult to select the battery type because the print on the screen is so small. Also, the directions were not clear regarding setting the load parameters. It took some trial and error to get it right.
Nice product, MPPT seems to work well. LCD interface is intuitive and easy to work with. The Bluetooth interface is less friendly since you have to go thru a web style Interface first. I'd like a more direct approach.
