For salsa in a can, it's hard to beat Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies! It's very inexpensive, usually under $1.50 for a 10 oz. can, and delicious! The diced green chilies give it a nice little kick, along with the diced tomatoes, which always taste fresh. Great on chips, tacos, and even spaghetti. Or on top of microwaved golden potato's, sprinkled with chives and a dash of salt and pepper. And presto, you have a nutritious meal for about a buck.
I always have few cans of rotel in the cupboard. It's good for so many things. My husband adds it to his turkey curry soup. I like to throw a can in the slow cooker or instant pot, along with some taco seasoning, chicken broth or water and boneless, skinless chicken breasts to make shredded chicken for burritos, tacos, etc. That and big pan of roasted veggies, spanish or mexican rice %26 beans and we've got dinner plus leftovers for lunches and such. I think the original Rotel has a tiny bit of a kick to it but the pickiest kid in our house will eat that slow cooker chicken without any complaints, so it's not really noticable when mixed with other ingredients. I've liked all of the Rotel varieties I've tried, but my favorites are this one and the mild.
Rotel, what can I say. It is diced peppers and tomatoes combined to make a delightful tasty combination Open the can and dump. Perfect for dump and go cooking makes it so I don't have to think of proportions to make or chop peppers. I add it to a variety of recipes and it is very useful. Thank you for letting me do this review.
I always keep ROTEL stocked in my pantry! I use it for my "Diamond Burgers" recipe and they turn out AMAZING every time. The tomatoes and green chilies add so much flavor with almost no effort. It's super easy to cook with, affordable, and great for quick family meals. Definitely a pantry staple in our house!
After being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing harsh chemo treatments, making homemade soups became a mainstay for me. I've continued making them to this day. So nourishing, comforting and satiating. I use a can or 2 of these delicious tomatoes and chilies in each pot. They add so much flavor with just the right amount of spicy heat. Try them in lentil soup and southwestern soup for starters. You'll be amazed.
From enchiladas, tortilla soup, my homemade chili, and the big batch of shredded chicken I make every week, rotel elevates the flavor of all my family's favorite dishes. The easy open pull tab makes the cans easy to makes delicious meals without needing to have a can opener near by. I keep several can stocked in my RV because they have a long shelf life and open quickly just by pulling the tab. Any way to limit weight and maximize space in the RV is essential.
This item is always good no mater what you use it for. i like it in my chile, sometimes in my lasagna, some of my different soups, making salsa, or queso. It has many uses, just needs your imagination! Seems all if my friends use it as well. It is even great on fish. Just pour it on while baking!
There are certain things that my family and I just won't substitute and Rotel is one of them! This addition makes the best homemade cheese for our nachos. I also use it to make Mexican rice. I've tried multiple different store brands trying to cut grocery costs and have come back to Rotel. Everything else is bland in comparison, love when I can catch it on sale!
I really love these.I put them in spaghetti, I put them in my chili, put them like in my shower, cause I don't like a lot of I just like the natural juices from the cohogs and I just absolutely love these dicey tomatoes. They're so flavorful and delicious and you won't even buy them anywhere else for the price you pay on walmart walmart's the cheapest
Walmart was out of stock and then charged me 13 dollars to ship two cans of this product. Never notified that there would be a ridiculous charge to send this product. Who in there right mind would spend 13 bucks to send a 1.50 can of product. Needless to say, they were mailed and left in hot mail box to cook and even though wrapped in bubble wrap one can was beat up pretty good with several dents and an endention that nearly put a hole in bottom of can.
