We had a smaller sheet count device from Royal for probably 7 years and gears finally wore out. So impressed with previous Royal device decided it would be in our best interest to procure another. So far so good and again, have had positive past results with Royal shredder.
I love this shredder so far. It's smaller than our old one so it doesn't take up quite so much space in our small home. Also, I like that the basket is solid with a viewing area to show if the basket is full. Our old shredder had a wire basket and who wants to see shredded paper or have visitors see it? It handled multiple sheets of paper like a dream and old credit cards breezed through like there was nothing to them. I'd highly recommend this for busy households.
Haven't had this product very long, but so far it exceeds far more than I expected. Love it and it is not loud. I would recommend this shredder to anyone wanting a good one. Thanks for letting me comment. I feel this shows you care about your product!
I was very surprised at the quality of this shredder. The cutting ease is amazing, even on CD's and credit cards. It is really quiet compared to my old one. At first I was a little disappointed on how much smaller the basket that held the shredded paper seemed to be, but than I realized I no longer had to lift the heavy cutter off the top to empty it, I only have to slide the basket out through the front, dump it and slide it back in. GREAT FEATURE! If you need a shredder for home use, this one is perfect and the price is good.
Excellent performance and pull out hopper makes dumping easy. Small pieces after shredding enables the hopper to hold lots of paper. It appears that it's not necessary to oil it like many of the competive units.
The opening for the paper feed isn't as big as I would like, and the sensor seems to be a bit touchy on making sure the paper is in right...but it shreds as it should! I would like to see some sort touch sensor that my last one had, but hopefully this one last longer than my previous one of only 1 year!
If you have priced shredders you know they can be expensive. Would I buy this on for my business? No. It is too small. That being said, it is a great machine for the money. It works well as a home shredder. It is quiet, compact, and handles four or five sheets at a time. The mechanics seem sturdy for light use. The size and looks of the machine are great for my space. It is easy to empty. Over all for the price it will be hard to beat. One last thing...Walmart service was excellent. Two days and it was at my door. Keep up the good work.
I ordered a specific model. The invoice showed that model but a different one was delivered. We decided to keep it even though it was not the one we ordered because it was too much trouble to return it and it did work,
It's working pretty much as expected from the other reviews I read before purchasing it. I only ever feed one page at a time so the motor and cutting are as I expected. The only thing I would say against it is the initial paper feed. It seems to have slight trouble getting started when the paper is first put in. It just doesn't turn on instantly when the paper is inserted. It's like there is a momentary delay. It isn't anything I can't put up with, but if I was testing this at a store before my purchase, it would eliminate this one from my choice. If it lasts as many years as my old Aurora I guess it will have been worth the purchase.
This shredder cannot possibly take 12 sheets; I was feeding 3-4 sheets at a time - not only did the basket fill up after 5 minutes (it really is small) it starting smoking! I took the bin out and the paper was hot! This went back; ordered a totally different brand.
