Safety 1st Contemporary Tall-and-Wide Gate, Grey

This gate is awesome once it's installed. The latch system is fabulous and works well it's well constructed and I love the tall height! The only thing is when you're assembling it it is really confusing to know which plugs go in for which parts you're gonna use. So maybe try to find a YouTube video about it that might be more helpful than what they give you in the box. In the end I just started putting things that look like they fit in there and it ended up working. So the assembly is a little confusing but it's awesome once you assemble it

Best gate ever. This is my second one. We had the first one for about 5 years and we have it for our dogs area and use it every day. It has been super sturdy and withstood lots of use, but was and still was a great gate. It just had a piece of the connector mechanism that broke and it wouldn't latch, but it was a user error on the mechanism getting broken. So I bought the same gate again knowing the quality is AMAZING!!

I installed some standard sized Safety First gates at my daughter's house after her baby started scooting around. They have been great! I finally got around to ordering these larger width gates for my own house. I had forgotten how fun they are to put together. Don't worry about the instructions being useless. Once you get going you will realize that those funky parts pretty much only fit into 1 place so with a little trial and error, you can find your way through. You will need screws if you want to secure the cups to the wall. Those are not included. One of the 2 identical gates I ordered was missing the "%232 screw" but that was not a deal breaker for me because the tension holds the bottom part together. My favorite thing is that you can flip the little lever at the bottom to prohibit the gate from opening both directions. This will save my stainless-steel fridge from getting destroyed. No other brand seems to offer this feature. Over all I recommend this gate for both safety and functionality. Just grab yourself a 6 pack and a list of your favorite cuss words/phrases and get after it. The result is worth the stress. 5 stars!

The product was pricy but necessary so we purchased. It was our second tall and wide gate but we have two other standard gates as well. Great product.

of you live in an old apartment building. the dooways are not quite big enough for the extension. so we had to add wood to get it to fit as the extenders dont. otherwise it held a 1 year old english mastiff. weighing 110lbs. it takes alot to hold him back. would purchase again

It looks great. When you install to the wider width it becomes a little unsturdy. A good push and it will be open so I will be replacing for securement of my son.

so hard to try put together. don't think the right attachment eye in box... sending back! all i acomplished was anxiety!
