Been using this for a couple months before leaving my review, and it's been working great. Maintains good transfer rates over a C to C cable and I'm able to run games off it without any noticeable performance drops. I find it well worth the price. Like winning a #sweepstakes,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up the Samsung T7 1TB in blue a little while ago and honestly, I'm blown away. First thing I noticed? How tiny it is — fits right in my pocket and barely weighs anything. Don't let the size fool you though, this thing is a beast. Transfer speeds are seriously fast. Moving large files, video projects, big folders — it all happens in a fraction of the time I was used to with my old portable drive. USB 3.2 Gen 1 really does make a difference in day-to-day use. The build quality feels premium too. It's got this solid, sleek metal casing that feels like it can take a bump or two without freaking out. And the blue colorway looks really sharp — way nicer than I expected from product photos. Setup was dead simple. Plugged it in, it was recognized instantly, no fuss. Works great across my laptop and desktop without any issues. If you're on the fence — just get it. Whether you're a content creator, a student, or just someone who needs reliable fast storage on the go, the T7 is absolutely worth every penny. Samsung knocked it out of the park with this one. 🔵
I bought 2 of these SSDs - one for my PS5 and one for my Android phone and Windows PC. The SSD works perfectly with all my devices. With my PS5 I am able to play PS4 games from it directly, and store PS5 games I don't have space for on the console memory. Speeds are great, no long transfer times or errors.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow!! What a great device. More than enough space for all digital art project. AND the download/transfer speed is zipp..zipp.. thanks!!
Excellent device.. found it cheaper at another Walmart location while I was waiting for delivery.
I have a Samsung Portable SSD T7 2TB that I have been using for a few years. Until recently I only checked its health with Samsung Magician, where everything always looked perfect (100% health, 0% wear). A few days ago I ran the software again and noticed very high numbers that concern me: Power Cycles: 340,897 Unsafe Shutdowns: 340,398 These two values are almost identical. I have read on various forums that this is a known behavior with the T7 due to the USB bridge counting sleep/wake events as power cycles. However, opinions are very mixed — some users say it's harmless, while others worry it puts extra stress on the drive and can lead to premature failure of the USB controller. Since the drive is now out of warranty, I would really appreciate an official answer from Samsung on this matter: Is such a high Power Cycle count (over 340,000) considered normal/safe on the T7? Does this affect the long-term reliability of the drive? Can I still trust this T7 for important data, or should I be cautious? I couldn't find any clear official statement about this behavior, so your clarification would be very helpful. Thank you in advance! Best regards, Dan
Item came repackaged and was not in the original Samsung packaging. Buyer beware as the item looks used.
I tried to use this as a backup medium for the internal drive on my workstation, but after writing less than a megabyte the device reported an I/O error and the backup process hung. I tried steps as simple as directly copying a small file to this device, but it always reports an I/O error and the copy process hangs. Maybe I got the unlucky one in a million which is defective, but I plan to return it to a local Wal-Mart store.
I still have not got it and have not got a refunded. In fact I have not heard anything from NewEgg or Walmart regarding the status and what has to happen. I need to get it resolved so I can reorder it. I need it to complete my home network storage. Should I take it on my self and order it somewhere else? I have been looking for a response, refund, or a fulment of the SSD from nearly a month. Please help...
They sent the wrong drive, with no cords.
