I got this to take Pictures off of my phone, but I needed to figure out how to do it and it was not easy at all. I ended up downloading an app called My Files from the play store and that was not easy either. Once I figured it out it all works like magic. Hard learning curve with this for retrieving pictures. It does work. And I like it now.
It does what it's supposed to. Really small, and work well. The bundled software is an extra you may or may not need, but it works with both USB-A and USB-C ports on both new and older computers, as well as the latest tablets and smartphones. Plastic casing is sturdy enough, and doesn't seem to get as hot as the metal-cased drives do. I'll get more of them.
Flash drive or microSD The only thing I will buy Is a SanDisk ive had several other brands fail. and fall and have SanDisk run over dropped in the toilet you name it just glue them back together and they work just fine and the other name brands can't make it a month or two I have SanDisk older than my kids PCs and smart TVs ect prefer SanDisk.

I bought this as part of a rush. buy when I needed flash drives. I had ordered a variety of flash drives just to make sure they could find one of them on the Shelf but they couldn't find any. so I had to spend money to order yet another delivery of yet another grouping of flash drives hoping that maybe these would be on the shelves and they were this one is very tiny and difficult to maneuver around my PC to get to the drive and to eject the drive. I didn't like that it had no cover for one end one end would be for a an iPad or an iPhone the other was for Android to protect one you had to rotate the other one out and it was exposed to protect the side that you were going to use that time you have to rotate it inside of itself and expose the side that you don't think you're going to use so even though it had dual connections one of them is not protected at any time. the packaging didn't help it was packed so that it was halfway open showing both connections on a pivot from the plastic that held them together. I couldn't use the container that it came in to store the flash drive which I use the original containers and write8 the date of whatever is being stored on it. I was glad that it was 128 storage because I had two different sets of data that I needed to keep separate but I needed to make sure I had enough room that I liked a lot it also was recognized very easily by my computer which is not always the case. the housing is so tiny that I would be nervous to use it on a laptop or even a phone it could be broken off or lost too easily for that I used it on my PC.
It really needs cap of some sort to declare that both ends are protected. Glad to finally be told what product I was rating. Too bad it was at the end of survey. The man that brought out this item, from Pickup was very friendly, courteous and helpful. An asset to your Eatonton store, as was the lady in customer service that pointed out where PickUp is for me, since I don't have a computer phone to use the parking lot pickup service.
I just got the flash drive (scan disk 256GB. I haven't had time to use or experiment with the device, the reason for 4 stars. I will update as soon as possible. I can say, the device is small, yet The A %26 C connectors are easily available %26 a thin key ring is perfect.
The usb hard drive is not bad. It is yhe awful bloatware software on the harddrive that prevents it from being useful. the software lives in a partition you cannot see, access, or delete. Formatting does not help. if you just want to plug and play, thys should be fine for you. If you dont want to fight for control (of your device!) with the terrible sandisk software, avoid this product. you can find much cheaper-- and easier to use to full potential-- drives elsewhere.
Although it indicates iPhone in description and on package it was not recognized and would not connect to my iPhone 16 pro. Spent hours troubleshooting and researching but nothing worked. Returning to store. Very disappointed as I have several SanDisk storage components for my Macs, iPads %26 iPhones %26 this is my first (obviously defective) bad purchase.
I got this to swap files between a mac with usb-c and a pc with the other type of port. The usb drive got HOT and started not showing up on the mac. Eventually it quit showing on the pc too. I sent it back to Sandisk for replacement. The new one quickly started doing the same thing. The drive pulled 0.4-0.6 amps from the mac according to a meter I have. Plugged into the PC the current ramped up immediately, then around 0.5-0.6 the PC automatically shut the drive off. No wonder I stopped being able to find it. Whether my original drive wasn't fixed, or the replacement was bad too, this product and me don't get along. I am looking elsewhere
