This fits my 6 foot frame perfectly. I live on the side of a mountain and everything is either straight up or straight down. Half gravel roads, half paved with lots of rough trails in between. The gearing is perfect for climbing straight up . Downhill on paved roads, you will run out of gears but you do have enough high gear to start a fast run to get you halfway up the next hill. A properly geared Gravel Bike is my first choice for the type of riding that I do. I do not need a front shock. My Mongoose Elroy Gravel Bike is perfect for my riding area but the low gearing is too high and needs an upgrade. The original 720mm bars are considered an advantage for fast, highly technical riding but I cut my bars down to 630mm, 24 inch because I never had a problem on these roads even with 450mm, 18 inch drop bars on a road bike. The bars are about 2mm rolled aluminum tube at the ends. Narrower also helps transportation and getting it into my tiny cottage. Unlike the Hyper Carbon 29 that looks like this bike, this Boundary has a real tapered headset. Shifting requires lots of force and is jerky but works. Make sure you downshift before you need it. I will see if I can upgrade to an Altus shifter system. The brakes are awesome. They use the larger rectangular pads. I never felt such good control going straight down sand covered snowy roads. (tires are not suited for unsanded snowy roads and icy trails). Actual measured weight is 39 pounds. Kickstand is awesome but is about 1/2 inch too short for flat paved surface. I will have to carry a piece of wood shim. The front fork seems almost useless on small bumps. Since I do not ride fast on difficult technical trails I would consider swapping this shock out for a lighter unsprung fork. Am currently shopping for Schwalbe Winter Marathon studded tires but are hard to find now. Am contemplating the Ice Spikers but they are overkill.
Lets start off by saying this bike feels light on paved roads . With that said I think its a great bike for the price, it has a-lot of MT features bot even available on $500 bikes . Like a clutch ! Only thing is you would have to take it to a professional bike shop to get it tuned . Otherwise its possible the best walmart bike you can get for the money .
This was an excellent upgrade for my 16 year old son from his 26" Diamondback. He's now 5'-10" and growing and the Boundary is on the large end for him but will still fit as he grows. I watched the Kevcentral reviews of the Boundary and agreed that it was a great buy based on it's trail features at a bargain price. After fine tuning the brakes, adjusting handlebars and seat, it was perfect. We did purchase a more comfortable MTB seat as the OEM is just too uncomfortable. The Boundary was easy to assembly by following basic instructions provided as well as viewing online tips. With the pandemic limiting inventory, I was fortunate to have my order fulfilled and delivered. Last year I had several orders that were cancelled by Walmart as demand far exceeded supply, so I set up notifications when the bike would be back in stock, and ordered within seconds of getting the email to improve my chances. Persistence paid off in the end!
This is a great value introductory mountain bike. Pre-assembly was well done making it easy to put together and Schwinn quality is reliable. I purchased this for my son who is going off to college and has gotten into riding the trails. This will last him quite a few years.
picked it up at the store still in the box got home put it all together was real easy since most of it is put together and a video on YouTube on how to adjust some things on it and it rode like a dream cant wait to start upgrading it
I love this bike, first I will say I saw this bike the first day I went looking and should have bought it right away. instead I left and checked a couple of other stores to see what else was available. there was nothing, went back and it was gone. I ended up getting a 26" schwinn that I really liked as well the sidewinder I believe but could be wrong. I just kept really wanting the 29" with the bigger tires. So I returned the smaller one and let my search continue. Finally after another 2 weeks and checking every couple of days at multiple stores I found it and bought it right away. I am only 5'9 and this bike is just right for me but it's big enough for much taller. would not recommend for anyone shorter than 5'7. Gears work flawlessly, and the front tire has a quick release which makes it pretty easy to get into a mid sized suv without any issues. I have only ridden it 5 miles so far but it is a nice bike. I definitely recommend getting a wider more padded seat especially if you are not a small framed person. I got a cruiser style seat for mine and admittedly it looks funny unless I'm on it and then you can't see it anyways. Comfort over looks in this instance, I like to go on longer rides and the small seats leave me in some pain.
Its beautiful MTB for 6 feet and above. Walmart given in the spec it's for 5.4 to 6.2 feet. compete with Good brands like specialized! I am 5.7' and it's too big especially the handle bar and I returned it after checking the height.
This is a good bike for the money. It has disc brakes, a quick-release front wheel and seat post, and a decent gear shifting mechanism. It's quite lightweight as well. My biggest issues were that the handlebars can't be adjusted for tall people, and the seat is ridiculously small and hard. I had to immediately buy a better seat, since the stock seat made me hurt in just one 30-minute ride. All in all, a good bike at this price point.
Just picked it up and put together yesterday so this review may change, but the one thing I noticed right off the bat was the handlebars are very low and pitched forward, With my height(6'6") it makes me way too hunched over to ride. I am going to have to get extensions to get it right. This may not affect some people but for me, will require some work. Other than that it seems well made and was easy to put together.
At first got delayed 10 days then didn't arrived at my home and no one told me anything what's going on! Got refund but no explanation about what happened!? I still trying to buy a mountain bike but for over 2 months and I never get anything! Do not buy bicycle online from Walmart!
