My son is trying to replace his older bike - its literally falling apart. We tried 2 different brands - and he wasn't satisfied. He's very pleased with the Schwinn. It had all the features that he wanted and the brand has a great reputation.
Product was just as advertised. Came to me assembled at no charge.
More like 3 and 1/2 stars IMO. It's sensible, fun bike to ride. I like the design of it. Brakes are the weakest component - braking power is really weak. Probably needs replacement. Shifters are one-by, so potentially less maintenance, but gear ratio is limited. Components seem budget level. I haven't had it long enough to say how long bike will last.
I changed up from a 26” Mongoose 21 speed bike I bought at least 25 years ago. I'd always had problems with my hands and neck falling asleep due to the riding position I was forced to assume because of my height. Those issues were mostly resolved by upgrading to this 27.5” bike. I've found I've had to adjust to the new gearing with this only being a seven speed. I also bought aftermarket grips for greater hand comfort as well as an extension for the stemless head to bring the handlebars up higher. I think the bike is good and worth the initial investment, especially at its price point.
I was happy to find a Schwinn for under $300 locally. While I don't expect t to perform as well as a high end bike, it does have many feature upgrades that aren't typical for hybrid bikes in this price range. An added bonus was that it arrived already assembled, so I've saved a lot of time by only needing to tweak and tighten it.
I ordered this bike for my wife for casual city riding and I believe it's the best choice for that purpose. I'm giving 5 stars for its appearance and 5 stars for the delivery. However, my experience was dampened by the fact that the package did not include the front wheel mount, pedals, and the seat had a manufacturing defect. Such things happen, it's normal, but I couldn't immediately find a way to contact Walmart support. The chatbot directed me to the bike manufacturer to resolve my issues, which was inconvenient as I didn't know where to write. Later, I found an email in the bike's documentation and wrote to them. The wonderful Natasha from Cycle Pacific ([email protected]) responded very quickly and sent the missing parts. The parts are still on the way, so we haven't ridden the bike yet, but I've checked that everything else works. I'm satisfied with the bike, but I would suggest Walmart's support team assign such matters to people and directly provide contact details for the manufacturer's support.
I paid 79 dollars for assembly…… had someone call me to set up appt. To come to my house to assemble it…….. but it was already assembled. I picked it up within 15 minutes of ordering it. Yet… I was told I still had to pay for the assembly !!!! So the person that was gonna come to my home to assemble it…still got paid for doing nothing !!!! 😡.
the nike looks good, but it is too latge and heavy. The compont quality match the low price. I will rerurn it and find a used of better quality for tje same price
The bike chain was detached from the gears and knotted up in FOUR spots. It's literally wrapped around one of the frame bars too and I have no clue how it's physically possible. Now we have to take this to a bike shop to get fixed and pay more money before I've even attached the seat. This is UNACCEPTABLE condition for a new in-box bike to arrive-- completely unusable without hired help. I want to be clear, we did not damage the chain. This is LITERALLY how it came out of the box in brand new condition. Schwinn should be ashamed to put that product in a box and seal it up! I would not recommend purchasing this with assumption you can assemble and ride same day. Assembly was not easy either. The very first instruction showed two options for attaching handle bars depending on what type of bike you have. BOTH options' pictures weren't of my bike. I am so frustrated and this is very disappointing for my husband as it was his birthday gift. I went with Schwinn expecting ease and satisfaction due to their strong industry name. NEVER AGAIN. Shame on Schwinn
Bike is great! Order process and communication poor. Ordered an “assembled” bike, paid $79 extra for assembly. Order kept getting delayed and the one CS rep told me to cancel. Next thing I know the already assembled floor model shows up on my door step (with chain slightly off) and the following night an “assembler” shows up at 8 PM on Sat night unannounced. I never got my $79 back despite the fact I got a floor model with some evidence of wear.
