Best experience I've had with a lawn tool...ever! Well packaged; easy assemble; quality feel in the materials; very powerful when in use, but lite when handling. The entire process of getting acclimated to this the electric thatcher (this being my first time using one) was not only rewarding and fun, but successful! I had to dethatch a lawn, which probably hadn't been ever thatched or aerated (the home being 80 years old). being my first use I was able to get two 48 gallon trash cans worth of material out of the lawn...WOW! I wish my hand in the workshop handling new power tools were as successful.
Super easy to use and assemble. Like all dethatchers, the bag is almost useless. You should know it does not come with a cord so be sure to have a long heavy gague extension cord. The sun Joe and green works ones were twice the price but Senior came through for a great price and picked up a ton of junk from my lawn.
I first used it as power rake. Then I switched to high setting scarifier. it still pulled tons of thatches. by the time I finished, I had 7-8 bags of thatch for 4500 sqft lawn. it's definitely worth the purchase. this machine will pay for itself after 2 uses. especially considering home depot charges $70 to rent a machine for 4 hrs. I'm planning on using this twice a year, early spring and late fall. only down side to it is you have to keep on moving the wire and emptying the bag every few steps. highly recommend if you want to power rake.
This is a fantastic little machine it does what its intended to do. This is not a paid promotion either. I bought this to thatch my yard; it did it in quick fashion like. My only knock on this machine is the bag is kind of small, but I see why,, this thing picks up thatch so much that even if it had a bigger bag the bag would be hard to push while attached. Cost effective and saved my back from lifting and pushing the 150LBS rental thatcher and saved me money as well.
This thing exceeded my expectations. It was easy to assemble. It really gets the job done. I have only used it for scarifying and it did a really good job. It is really easy to push and handles good. For the price, you can't beat this tool. I would recommend it to anyone.
This unit performs well considering the low cost. It does a good job de-thatching the lawn. The cord is sort of a pain keeping it where it needs to be, but the only alternative is batteries or a gas unit which would be a lot more expensive. I would recommend this unit, especially considering the low cost.
great, does great job , have to dump bag after a couple passes, haven't thatch grass for years, what a difference, would recommend for small, medium lawns
Ok, so I have a dethatcher already, but wanted the bagging attachment. This seemed like the one for the job based off reviews, and it will be depending on the job. I have a large yard and I couldn't even get half way across the yard before the bag filled up. Which is not at fault of the product, but because I had a lot of thatch! So, I decided to removed the bagger drop the machine lower (adjustable heights) and got to work. This thing is a beast and works dang good. I used a combo of my lawn mower and leaf vacuum to pick up the thatch I had pulled up. I will run the dethatcher again because there is noticeably less thatch already. I have more yard to do and will be happy to get it done with this. I haven't used the tiller, but I'm certain it will work well. With time, patience and perseverance, you will get your lawn Dethatched!
This tool can be used like a lawnmower type of tool . I do it in fall and early spring to help remove the dead grass or Thatch, which is basically dead grass and debris. This will just pull it up to the surface and you will have to rake i do it in fall and early spring to help remove the dead grass or Thatch, which is basically dead grass and debris. This will just pull it up to the surface. But basically, this will break up the barrier above the soil so nutrients and water can infiltrate better. But basically, this will break up the barrier above the soil so nutrients and water can infiltrate better. I would say the only con is with it being electric. You just need to make sure you have a long extension cord. I would say the only con is with it being electric. You just need to make sure you have a long extension cord.
It's not easy to put together nor is it easy to use. And I've had to buy more tills just to change out the cutters which they don't tell you. The cutter that comes already on there easily gets tangled in the grass and causes the mower to stop working.
