I only need to gently set it on top of a can, press the button down gently and it starts to open a can. It is with no strain to my hands, I'm challenged with arthritis in both hsnds, the can opener does the work for me. Astonishing! A big thank you.
This electric can opener works perfectly! It opens cans smoothly and hands-free, without sharp edges. The motor is strong and easy to control, great for seniors or anyone with weak hands. Compact size fits easily in the kitchen drawer. A must-have handy kitchen tool!
Recently picked up this one-touch, battery-operated can opener, and it's quickly become a kitchen essential—especially great for anyone with arthritis or limited hand strength. It's Effortless operation – Press the button, and the opener walks itself around the can while cutting smoothly and cleanly. with Safe smooth edges – No more jagged lids—cuts the top clean, avoiding dangerous rims.
I have this opener and purchased it for a friend who has difficulty opening cans with the old fashioned hand held opener. I thought the price from Walmart was more than fair and, if needed, would purchase another from them in the future. This opener is beyond simple to use and there are no worries of cutting oneself which is especially important for older folks.
When I was shopping for a new electric can opener, I was looking for one that opens on the side, I guess I didn't really pay close attention to this one, I saw a good price and threw it in the cart, once I received it I was shocked that it ran by batteries and it sits on top of the can making it only capable of opening small cans. I definitely have to buy a new electric can opener…. I only have it a low rating because it wasn't what I expected and when it opens a can you have to manually stop it from turning… this opener would be Great for camping and outdoor activities
I am responding to this product in comparison to one that I purchased a similar product/brand previously that needed to be replaced and no longer functional. The previous product (I cannot remember the brand), lasted through many uses, was easy to use (using one functional hand), and lasted a fair amount of time as a help-aid in my kitchen. This, similar product purchased as the replacement of the worn out one, is not as good as what I had before and I depended on to serve my need in opening canned goods. A stroke has limited my strength, dexterity, and hand-function in many tasks needed to do basic tasks of daily living. The battery operated can opener, that I purchased, looks similar; yet is more difficult to work with than the other one that I got used to using. (It was gifted to me after the stroke). *Batteries are more difficult to replace, using one hand. I cannot open the unit without a major struggle and 'fight' or to find assistance from a neighbor. They, too, end up fighting with the 'ease' of entry! *This opener is "jerky" in movement while it maneuvers the top of the can and sometimes slips off the rim and needs to be re-attached or gets jammed %26 stops, without releasing its grip before completing the entire circumference of the surface. ( the manual release feature can also be a struggle to maneuver, using one hand) * Each %26 every time of use, there is a tiny portion of the lid that stays attached that needs twisted or clipped to removed from the can. *My experience with this specific unit is not friendly with different sized canned goods, as stated in the marketing write-up. Large, medium or small sized can, the unit still jerked %26 struggled as it did its job. * a very sharp rim of the can is exposed and dangerous as a result of opening the can. The previous can opener was designed differently to prevent that risk. I will still need a can opener that can be utilized, using one hand. It may not be this specific brand that I choose as a replacement when that time comes. There are MANY companies and brands to choose from out there. I probably will not choose this one, without thoroughly reading more consumer reviews. Just because things look similar, it does not mean that they work similarly!
Hey y'all. I really, really wanted to like this guy. I didn't have to spend a lot of money on him. He was kind enough to open the cans of tuna for my cats but he is always so loud. As soon as I touch his buttons he starts going. That could totally be a good thing but his grip is off and it's hard to show him where to go once the motor is running. Let alone getting him to stop! Goodness. I think I'll try my luck with a more stable countertop opener next time.
You have to adjust the wheel on the side for the can "depth" and you better hope you remember which way to turn the wheel or you will be there for a while. It will not work if there is any imperfections in the can. It does take the entire top of the can, but you can still be cut. It is very slow moving even with fresh batteries.
I have read and reread the instructions struggling to get the can opener to operate, but it simply won't perform. I ordered it because I have arthritis. I had another can opener which was battery operated I enjoyed for years, but unfortunately it quit working, so I am at a loss.
After failing to open two cans with this can opener I threw it in the trash with the attached can. I tried the button and the manual method of opening the can with the can opener. I could not detach the opener easily on the first can. I could not detach the can from the opener at all with the second can. thus I threw it away can and all. I was very frustrated.
