Flavorful, crunchy, high fiber, low carb, plant protein! Healthy and ready to eat hot or cold in recipes and salads. When I don't have time to cook - I reach for a can to toss onto leafy baby green salad; add fajita strips of beef; cheese, and any of your fav dressings or toppings. Love the variety of flavors; and different beans.
I am so glad I found these beans! They are a great addition to my morning omelet! Flavorful and great consistency. So glad they are available in a 4-pack; and at a great savings compared to a single purchase at our local grocery store, which is always a hit or miss.
it was really happy with these. It's funny that I actually use them in a recipe that called for corn separate and black beans separate and I saw I had these and I thought well I'm gonna try and in the end it actually made that recipe a lot better.!! got lots of compliments. I definitely say try them if you like some spicy southwestern food.
I was out of the regular black beans, I use in my Mexican Bean and Corn Soup with kielbasa. These were on sale, so I bought 4 cans. They are absolutely delicious. I only added one can, and it put off the perfect heat, for the entire pot of soup. You take a bite, and get spicey beans. You take another bite and there's a smokey and sweet taste. I don't like really spicy food, so these were a perfect addition. I will certainly buy them again for my soups.
These were really good. I used them as a side dish, warmed, added a little oil %26 a little salt to tone the sweetness-they paired well with our hotdogs. I also plan to add them to my next pot of chili, cooking them with ground beef, pork, onions, peppers, tomatoes %26 spices. The sauce in these beans should help season the chili also.
I made ground turkey w/ these 4 cans of beans and only added 1 T homemade taco seasoning and 2 cans drained northern ( or pinto) beans and slo cooked on low in crockpot. I also added a cup of frozen sweet corn to add to what was in cans of SW beans. Family came up that eve from out of state and J served it w/ corn bread on the side. They all loved it and I loved it. The chili ancero? Was subtle and delicious. My only question/ or concerns with this product I it took a long while to ship to me ( over a week) so made me nervous to count on them being available for my meal. Also- could taste sugar sweetness in them- not sure what type they used but it had some added sort of sugars. All in all- highly recommend! My daughter in law will likely order as well!
My bad, I should have read the ingredients. I assumed it was beans and corn, these are sweet, like baked beans without the smokiness. They are good quality, but I won't purchase them again, I don't need sugar in my beans, there's already sweet corn in there.
The description sounds delicious, so I tried them. Not bad, but the first whiff you get of them simmering on the stove is like somebody's bad breath. And why so much added sugar if the corn is “super sweet”. Or is that why the corn is supersweet? Somewhat disappointed. Is that why you have to buy them four cans at a time?
It's just that these beans were a lot spicier than I was expecting . . . foolish, I know, considering their name. But if you happen to like spicy food, give these a try. You might find a new favorite! (The older I get, the wimpier my tongue is.)
I opened 1 can, took 1 bite %26 it tasted awful. I expected it to taste good b/c I liked everything listed in the ingredients, but unfortunately it didn't.
