Sevylor Portable and Lightweight 1-Person Kayak with Backpack with 5-Minute Set Up

This is my second kayak. The first one I purchased was an intex inflatable Challenger K1 Kayak and the first time I took it out on the water the skeg fell off. Intex does not have any skegs in stock and I did not want to miss kayaking. I will probably have to wait until winter before one comes in stock. This time I ordered the kayak from Walmart, and they were excellent in delivering to the store within the time frame they mentioned. It is very easy to blow up (about 5 minutes) and can easily get in and out of the kayak with ease.

Priced our two kayaks other places. Jet wasn't the least expensive....to start. Once I finished with my order, I had ordered two kayaks and a price that was unbeatable. Fantastic shopping experience. I will be back...not a quote! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This product is amazing and super comfortable! I am 6' 240 lbs and still there is plenty room for a larger person. Takes minutes to pump up with the dual action pump that comes with your purchase. Couldn't be happier with my purchase! I have tried the hard shell kayaks and was always super uncomfortable, by the end of playing my back would be killing me. Not with this sevylor kayak, comfort all day!!!

I was skeptical whether or not this would be a quality product for the price and I was more than pleased with it. First of all most non-inflatable kayaks are generally rated for 250 to 300 pounds, This one is rated at 400 pounds, and me being a bigger guy this was something that caught my attention. The rubber is very thick, the valves are as well. Now with this kayak lacking a keel along the bottom don't expand to keep a straight course when you're not paddling. I was very pleased overall with this kayak. It packs easily, it pumps up quick, there isn't anything that I did not like about it and I really critique things more than an average person. Great product-great price!

Easy setup, paddled and handled well on a small lake. Very stable. I fished where I wanted; where I could not have fished without the kayak. Great in ponds, rivers and ligjt rapids. It was easily packed away making it very travel friendly...so throw in a kayak or two just in case.

It works as advertised. It doesn't glide quite as far as a hardshell kayak, but it works! Big plus for veing able to pack it up and put it in my closet.

Had our maiden voyage on a local small lake and the boat was a blast. The paddle is really short and a bit of a pain to out together. That will need to be upgraded ASAP. There are 5 separate sections to inflate using 2 different nozzles, and you need a second person to hold the nozzle while the first pumps up the boat. After a bit of a workout, the boat was a blast! Not the fastest out there, but definitely fun! A bit of an origami project to get it back in the backpack formation, but nothing too difficult. Love the portability.

After debating on a hard shell or an inflatable, a sit upon or a sit in. I made the right choice. I received it even faster than the checkout stated. I used it in a cove area of a large lake. With a slight breeze blowing and a little rippling water, it took a little more effort than I was expecting and found out that short strokes worked better than long strokes. Inflation was fast and simple. Deflating was even quicker. Storing was easy as well. Only down side was the paddle holder rings on the side, did not hold the paddles very well and the paddles gave my thumbs a blister after 2 hours of paddling. This is the reason for the 4 star rating. It was very stable, and having a bad back, it was very comfortable even after sitting for 2 hours. My husband who was skeptical, tried it and he now wants one.

We bought this kayak to take camping and enjoy on lakes and rivers. The maiden voyage was on Lake Michigan and we had a GREAT time! They were super easy to carry down to the beach, easy to inflate and were fantastic on the water. They tracked well, handled waves, and were very comfortable. Hard to flip and easy to get back on top of if you decide to jump into the water. The ONLY downside are the paddles. The plastic tightening rings are right where you want to put your hands and after paddling for a while they begin to irritate the skin around the thumbs. Otherwise definitely a great purchase.

I bought two of these kayaks because I thought it would be a good way to go being able to transport them in the trunk of my car. We inflated one of them for a test on the lake and it did not track well at all. It might be a good thing for a kid, but there is no glide, so we took them back to the store for a refund.
