This is my first serger, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the color coded graphs and the online manual make starting easier to figure out
I bought this machine approximately a month ago and love it. I do a fair bit of charity sewing for our local hospital and it makes the projects much quicker to get through. I had no problems threading it, although I made sure I paid very close attention to the instructions.
Great machine, little difficult to thread. It does have a color code to thread the machine, which is very helpful. I would highly recommend it.

I am brand new to "serging" so really need some time to watch some YouTube instructional videos. what I have done was a bit loose on some threads! However, project turned out really well!
Easy to set up and works perfectly for my needs. I'd just make the presser foot lifting lever was on my right as i can'tget used to the one on my left, but this is personal preference. Everything else is good.
After researching between a brother serger and this one, Singer came out on top. Four stars because it doesn't come with a physical manual. You have to download it. This was a gift for my mom, an older woman who is not computer savvy. I mean, come on Singer! For the price we pay you can't include a user's manual?
The only problem is no instructions. We had to call to find out how to locate the accessories, and then use the internet to figure out how to open the compattment. Okay with the internet instructions but when your initial reaction to opening the box is "why didn't they send the accessories", well...... even just a small, "here's how to find everything" would help, with a link to a manual.
I am new to the world of serging, but I have found the whole experience fascinating. Threading the machine is one of the most challenging parts of using the machine. Once you have overcome this hurdle, the rest is easy-peasy.
