Probably the best buy and the best I have taken. I took 2 capsules every meal for years. Now I have been taking a lot stronger hydrochloride Acid HCL with pepsin 650mg for I have found myself needing much more stronger stomach acid to digest my high fat diet.

This is an easy product to swallow. My doctor recommended it after doing a test that evaluated whether I was digesting my food well and assimilating nutrients. I was not, and three months after beginning this product, my digestion and assimilation is much better. I would recommend consulting with one's doctor before using it, though.

I was taking these along with Betaine HCl based on some reading (unfortunately not enough). I think these might be helpful to anyone who has taken GERD medications like proton pump inhibitors long-term since it might help to reestablish more normal stomach enzyme balance, but I found these actually made my GERD worse. The issue is that if stomach acid and pepsin are backing up into your esophagus or larynx and you are adding more of the same by taking these and HCl/pepsin. It's been found that pepsin is even more damaging than stomach acid per se, and the only thing that it can be deactivated by substances that are highly alkaline. So I switched to the Life Extension Esophageal Guardian at bedtime and drinking alkaline water if I notice symptoms at other times, plus sleeping with the head of my bed elevated.
