The ONLY bad thing or I wouldn't say bad maybe a tad bit of annoyance in this product is constantly making sure it's filled up. If the wind blows it streams the water out of the bird bath and then it's empty. All in all for a solar powered item it's super neat!!!!
Easy to assemble. It is plastic so it is light. Fountain needs to be cleaned every day because it gets plugged up, but it easy to do so. We use the low flow because otherwise the wind blows all the water out.
Shipping was super quick, assembly was super easy just need a Phillips screwdriver. It seems sturdy and well made. The birdbath is heavy duty plastic but looks copper. I am not sure on the solar fountain. I did have to cut the straws as they were too long for it to fit in the fountain. I added two rocks I washed and want to add more as the birds don’t like deep water: the explanation of the tips wasn’t so great but I figured it out. Still need to figure out which tip works best and how to adjust the pump pressure to attract birds but not waste the water. So far no birds have used it but I’m hopping soon.
I did like the easiest assembly and the color of the item. there was a little bit of vagueness about how to set the fountain into the bowl. once I did get the fountain weighed down the issue is it likes to spray the water up into an arc and it winds up on the ground all the time which is causing filling the bowl often
The solar fountain lasted only a few days. I bought this particular bird bath because it came with a fountain. And I have had regular electric fountains for years, I know about not letting them run dry and keep the filter clear etc. The birdbath itself is good. The birds began using it right away. Sure wish I could just return the fountain part for a new one.
Somehow I did not catch that this was plastic. It has to be in full sun so the fountain will work, I don't expect this to make it one summer in the south. You can't use any of the fountain heads because it sprays the water outside of the basin so it's dry everyday.
While it looks great and the birds like it, there are some issues. The fountain works, but not well. I have both with and without the fountain. For bird feeder, if you live where it rains, you have to pull the forks out of the ground to empty it which makes it wobbly when put back in, same if you mow. While I like it, I think the design could be better by making bird bath and bird feeder different design. The feeder option should have a mesh bottom for drainage. Bath should have a removable plug for drainage.
The bird bath when it arrived is not what was pictured. The water had to be refilled once a day even on calm days- I did not run it on windy days (pointless) in the yard by my hummingbird feeder and flower planter. The diameter of the bowl is too narrow for this fountain pump. The pump straws in no way fit into the bowl they were angled no matter how you placed it. So over all nice idea, but poor design.
The basin is made out of cheap plastic, and in order to change the water you would need to pull the entire fountain / bird bath out of the ground. I received two different assembly instructions and didn’t receive the correct parts for either set of instructions. Total waste of time and money.
Does not work unless it is in the direct sunlight. I left it for two hours to charge and because my bird bath was not in the direct sun it wont work, even in the middle of the day. Very disappointed.
