I wanted a shop quality charger. This one meets that standard. The variable charging modes make this unit. I had a parasitic draw on a brand new battery causing it to degrade and with one of the modes it brought my battery back to life. I'd recommend this unit for the home shade tree mechanic.
nice charger. the boost is a little weak for power jumping a diesel with dead batteries but works great to give them a boost when cold starting. only complaint is its hard to change between jump start and charge. it does battery reconditioning and checks the alternator too which is a big plus. well worth the price compared to the over priced others from other stores.
This is a fantastic product! I was weary with it being a new model. Nowadays with all the safety regulations I was afraid it would shut off before making a fuel charge. However it has been a great charger I’ve charged wet and gel batteries with it and when they’re full this unit will automatically maintain them if it’s still hooked up. This is like an old school charger with all the bells and whistles of the modern day at a great price. At this point and as many batteries as I’ve already charged, this might be the last charger I ever need to buy. It’s been a few months since I bought it online but I think I paid around 140$ for it. Well worth the investment for me personally.
Just select what battery you have, and hit the charge battery button. Pretty simple. Plug it up, and CcHHHHAAAAAARRRGGEEE!
the smart charger diesnt allow you to put a xharge to batteries it deems not good enough when in fact they will take a charge. you cant over ride lets say bat. recond. when you hit another button unless you unplug it from power and the batt. and then you havecto wait fir up to 4 minutes for it to lose power even though its already unplugged. very aggitating charger
I just finished assembling and then found extra screws loose in the main plastic bad. After looking inside through the vents it appears these hold the main circuit board in place. The standoff posts that mount the board are also snapped off. Since the box is intact it “appears” that normal moving around caused these to break. I have not powered up the unit and I won’t because a shorted out electric circuit can do some bad things. Since this unit can provide up to 200 amps of current it’s possible, though not likely, that it could briefly turn into an electric welder and fry itself along with me if I was touching the metal casing. Back to returns it goes. This was on sale ONLINE ONLY for $88.xx and was $139.xx in the store. I was IN the store and had to order using the app, then wait for hours and then pull into a parking spot and have it brought to me just to be able to get a fair price on a… BROKEN item.
I couldn't get it to charge and it came and broken shattered paper box it was shattered and torn the screws was missing the top of the box was unsealed Etc....
This won't change the battery in my van. I also just watched the video on youtube, and the man tried twice to start his corvette, and it didn't work.
I received this for Christmas 2024. I didn’t try to use it until February 7th 2025. When I started to use it, it would sound like it was coming on for about 3 seconds and then go into standby mode. I followed the directions but it continued the same thing regardless of what I tried. I’ve always had good results with Stanley so I carried it back to exchange it. I was told Walmart no longer does exchanges that they refund and then you repurchase the item. When I bought it, it was $88. This was one of the reasons I purchased this particular charger. It is now $139 so I was going to have to spend another $50 to replace it with the exact same item. I chose to just get a refund and will buy one elsewhere.
I bought this back in December to jump start a truck, but Shelton Walmart has some Karen working there that gave me such a hassle by the time I got back, the crew had found other means to start the truck. So it sat there in our utility shed until this past weekend. I went to use it, I plugged it in to charge the battery and came out 10 minutes later it was billowing black smoke and it was on fire. nearly burned down my carport.
