I am not sure how this compare to other brands, but my experience with this item has been excellent. The glue stick melts quickly, no need to wait very long to use it. The trigger is soft, so controlling the amount of glue for application is not an issue - you can have a lot or as little glue depending on how hard you squeeze the trigger. The only issue I have is - after you release the trigger, there are still a few glue coming out of the nozzle, but I think this is normal for any glue guns. I wished that the plastic leg located just below the muzzle is a bit more sturdier and longer - but that's a minor issue. Overall, works great for its purpose and am very satisfied.
I was amazed at how easy this was to use for several of my projects. I am new to trying to make new things DYI. Thank you Stanley for making life fun again.
This glue gun works very well. It heats up quickly and it doesn't "string" as badly as some I have used in the past.
They came in perfect condition and worked as good as my old one.
What sold me was the price. Otherwise, it's a hot glue gun.
I gave it 1 out of 5 stars because the glue sticks are VERY hard to find. The standard size glue sticks didn't fit and then the glue shot out of the back of the glue gun. I had a huge mess !!!!! If I didn't throw out the glue gun's packaging I would have sent it back. I do not recommend this glue gun, it is JUNK !!!!!!
Open the gun up, plug it in, put in one Stanley glue stick GS10DT, put in the 2nd GS10DT glue stick, wiated six mintues, pulled the trigger, no glue came out, puller the trigger a few more times no glue came out. I can see the melted glue from the rear. Repeater this process a few more times with the same results. The instruchtion says you can leave the gun plugged in up to two hours so I left mine plugged in for the two hours max and I still can't get glue to come out of the nozzle. Clean the nozzle with a nail, no help. Wasted my valueable time on a Saturday morning.
