Stansport 12" Hurricane Lantern

I bought this for its' nostalgic look. It came very well packed and in great shape. I appreciate the great packaging to avoid breackage. Thank you Walmart!

i like this because i put it were i know where it is in case of rain or snow strom knocks electric out

A nice small lantern that emits plenty of light in my one bedroom apartment if I ever have a power outage

handle for raising the glass up to light the lantern is too easily bent other than that it's a good lantern.

The lantern works but has a tendency to pull to the side when you push the lever down that moves the globe up to light the wick. For me it is no problem...but for some it might be. It's a nice cheap lantern and for a knowledgeable camper it would be fine. I would just like to say be very careful with this lantern and don't panic when the globe get pulled out of place and you can't lower it back over the flame...take it outside and extinguish the flame by rolling the wick down inside the reservoir away from the air. Lantern is ok...but not for novices.

Bought two. Both have welds that are not sealed. Fuel slow leaks out. Have to keep aluminum pie plate under lamps to use .

Super thin metal. The wick assembly easily loosens in use. A clear fire hazard. Glass globe sits at an angle, showing that the retention system is inadequate. Tiny reservoir is difficult to fill properly, because the overfill mark and the fuels' edge are not visible together anywhere on this lantern. You must just tilt and fill and hope that it's not too much. I suspect that reports of leaks are because those folks overfilled. Easy to do. Impossible to tell. In sum, a very basic lantern that will complete the task if you are careful. It will make you really appreciate the value of a Dietz. This is not a good value at any price.

NO Stars!!! (can't submit a no-star) On Line order went well.. shipped quickly and packaged alright.. Brought them with us camping, still plastic rapped.. First time filling, 1 leaked instantly.. 2 days later, 2nd one leaked... So very disappointed... Will be returning them...
