Works Well

RoadGnome June 20, 2016

I got 3 of these to have for when we go dry camping with our travel trailer. They are large enough to allow us to add fresh water to the holding tank without having to break camp just to go put water in the tank. Their light weight and rugged construction make them ideal to keep onboard as part of the regular gear.

Great as a Block of Ice maker

Jeff December 28, 2015

I've used these water jugs over the years to create ice for my cooler. If you have a large cooler the 5 gallon jug is great. They used to make a 1 1/2 gallon jug that works for smaller coolers. Don't fill the jug up too far... 3/4 full is perfect and leave the spigot open once you've placed it in you freezer as ice expands the jug. Close the spigot once the water is frozen. As the ice melts the water won't get all over everything, and the water can be used for other things as it melts. I use it for my dog as she loves cold water. A great product for the creative use person.

Good Value/Longevity

Jireh8 September 17, 2016

Previously had a hard side 5 gallon container and needed to save space. Have had and used this item for over 5+ years. When turned on it's side it dispenses water without any issue. Collapses well and takes very little space. Filing is not an issue, but can be cumbersome.

Not Sturdy

JLD54 July 4, 2014

Not sturdy enough. Kind of flimsy. Does hold the water but the spigot is kind of hard to use cause you have to push down on the water bottle to get the water to dispense. Ordered one (1) to see how it was. Will not order another one.

Wouldn't trust it far

DistantTraveler January 11, 2017

I first filled it at home to see how it worked after reading many negative reviews about similar products. Mine indeed has a pinhole in it, probably where one of the folds was in shipping. Mine has two hinged red handles, not a solid one like shown in the picture. The tap is easy to use and does not leak when turned off. Leaving water in it overnight, it appears to have no other leaks than the one pin hole. The tap being on an angled corner seems awkward for some levels of fullness, but the tap does rotate to help adjust for this. Five gallons of water is pretty heavy, so I would be afraid to carry it far by the handles or hang it from the single small tab, but I haven't tried that. I figured it wasn't worth sending back at this price since I don't plan to transport water where a tiny drip matters. I probably will not bother to try another brand in the future.

Don't recommend

Dmackerman September 15, 2017

Ordered eight before hurricane Irma. The plastic is very thin, and three leaked the first time they were filled straight out of the box from where they had been folded/collapsed. I can't see the rest lasting much longer than 1-2 uses, and certainly not if collapsed when put away I've bought a similar product from another manufacturer in the past that was much sturdier. I do not recommend these. Only give 1 star as you cannot give zero.
