This lamp is exactly as described. It takes batteries and worked wonderfully while camping. The light can be adjusted and can be hung up or sit out. I was satisfied and will probably purchase a second one for the next trip.

I love how really cute it is and it's about 11 inches tall..the lamp has a dimmer switch for a night light say in the bathroom.....its nice and bright on high.....I bought it to put in the Kitchen as a sandwhich making light...dont need the overhead on to make a sandwhich....IM SAVING MONEY.....I also bought AC DELCO BATTERIES at a very low price...they are very well rated... Now let's talk about the batteries...it says it takes D SIZE so I bought a 12 pack....but it takes 4 AA.....I'm glad because D are expensive and also heavy so....the lamp will remain light weight.....the battery door is pretty crappy but it's functional and the last battery you put in is going to be a tight fit....just make sure the other batterys are as far over as possible AND to take the batteries out pull the middle one first.....instructions say it comes with batteries.....nope it doesnt....but still a good value.. ITS STURDY has a hook to hang it on top and a swing up wire handle....I LOVE IT....

in description it used 2 type d batteries it does not i now have batteries i have no use for
