Stansport Shock Cord Repair Kit For Tent Poles

Recently I broke a pole for my older model Coleman 8-man tent. Unfortunately, replacement poles were virtually nonexistent unless I wanted to spend a lot of money. For around $5, this Stansport Shock Cord Repair Kit did the trick! I was able to fix my tent pole in under 20 minutes. This was only because I struggled at first getting the shock cord through (this was a very narrow pole) but problem solved with a bit of twine and tape to help me pull. The best part is, I easily have enough shock cord left to fix another pole should I need to in the future. For value and quality, this repair kit can't be beat!

45 feet of shock cord and only 6 washers! They don't say what size washers they use. Couldn't find anything of that size at the local Wal Mart, but the local home improvement store did. Look for %234 stainless flat washers. The wire guide was useless to me since I couldn't straighten it out well enough to make it through my tent poles. But at least for my poles, the guide wire wasn't needed. The cord is a little thinner than the original shock cord, but it works. Time will tell how well it holds up.
