GREAT SEALER! I used this on an '07 Honda Odyssey mini-van. Many older Hondas have roof leaks. For years Honda used cheap seam sealer in their factories during various production runs causing thousands and thousands of leaks WAY DOWN THE ROAD (well after warranties expired of course, what's new, right?!). lol. Anyway, now that I've used "lol" in my review, you know I must be in my late 50's. haha, you got me. lol. Hey, with age comes wisdom... and I've been restoring classic cars for years and have used every kind of seam sealer and panel bond there is. On this old Honda, I knew I didn't have a ton of seam to redo, so I didn't want to break out the caulk gun and buy an entire tube of $65 seam sealer. I'm not doing any other seams in the near future and I didn't want to use up a fraction of a caulk tube, only to let the unused portion sit around and dry out in the tube and go to waste. It's like POR15 paint where you want to buy the smallest can for the job because you know the rest will turn into a hockey puck in the can. Car guys / body guys, you know where I'm coming from. And yes, I've tried every trick in the book to keep unused product from going bad - it's an art form in this biz, but the older I get the more stuff I buy in the smallest tubes/containers possible. Anyway, I took off the Honda van roof racks and roof trim and cleaned/prepped everything. I then applied generous amounts down the length of the van on both sides and smeared it all in as I went. To my surprise I still have about 15% of the tube left. I even went down the seams of the back hatch and still have 15% left. I let it cure in the sun for many days and then had several big rain storms and the roof leaks are all gone. Great product! I'll def be buying it again in the future. I'm a retired and disabled Navy vet and I watch a lot of boat repair shows on you tube and saw a few guys using this stuff and now I'm hooked. It doesn't stink while you're putting it on, it doesn't drip even outside in the summer heat, it wipes off gloves no prob, it wipes off car surfaces (where you don't want it) easily too. And now that it has dried, it has about the same dried surface toughness as some of the best industrial panel bonds (the really expensive sealers) that I've used over the years. I also did a few test strips in places where I don't need it, but that will get covered by trim. Since this was my first try of this stuff, I really wanted to see if I could pull it off once it set for a few weeks, and NOPE! Once this stuff is on, it's on. It did dry more slowly than stuff I've used before, which is not great if you're in a hurry to get a car under primer or in the paint booth or whatever. BUT, by that same token, if you mess up on your application stage and want to reverse it (wipe it off), you do have a good amount of time to get a re-do on this stuff. I like that. It could be a big advantage in some cases. I'm not in a hurry so slow-drying is a plus!
So, mounting holders on an aluminum boat can be tricky. But this stuff works. I used it to mount zip tie blocks for wiring the boat and it worked perfectly. You do have to let it dry for about a day, but if you don't hurry and let it dry, it really holds up.
Awesome stuff! I used this sealant to glue D-rings onto my inflatable paddle board and it worked like a charm. Super strong hold, enough flex for my needs and it's held up perfectly after a good amount of use. Overall, I'm really happy with this product and I definitely recommend it!
I WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED ON HOW GIOD THE SEALANT HAD. IT WAS EASY TO WORK WITH AND, JUST THE RIGHT AMOUT OF TIME TO CURE!
Perfect marine sealant, comparable to more expensive options at the marine store. Does exactly what it says it does and a permanent bond. Would highly recommend!
Works as good as the 3m brand
Was looking for a less expensive alternative to 5200 this product was the answer for my application.
Product worked well,we had a leak in a seal of our camper window and this product solved the problem
The adhesive has astong and water proof hold once dry. The sry process is fairly quick and little bit goes a long way. Great for boat or a variety of marine products. I feel that the price is fair for the product I received and compared to others on the market.
This is my first time using this product and since it is a sealant it will take some time for me to rate the long-term effectiveness of the sealant. So far so good.
