pros - this is a must-have! it does what it does, and it does it good, it dries quicker than the other ones, easy to mix and durable. cons - it does not work with gasoline as it says, its very little quantity, dries too quick so you need to have a contingency plan before applying, if not it ends up on your glove more than the affected area.
welp,.... we did a thing. Hubby was installing a deck and we put in stakes to secure the deck to the ground ( tornadoes) and we had NO CLUE that there was a water line running under the dirt right there. UGH. the deck was 3/4 built at that point, so our choices were... tear out the deck and fix the plumbing... or patch the hole. THIS STUFF did a fantastic patch job. it sealed it right up, like it was never there. and the line that was punctured was a high pressure line that fills our pool. so you know it was gonna need to be a good repair. and it was. Bonded just perfectly. A great stuff!
I had a window in my RV leak around the base. I used ahead of a storm. it dried very fast. After it started pouring rain another spot wasxstill leaking. I used it in the pouring rain and it stopped the leak. It didnt set as fast but it worked well!!
During a deep freeze I had an outside shallow well pump freeze and develop a small crack in the chrome holding housing. I used JB Water Weld. It's so easy to cut a small piece off the tubular stick, knead it and spread it over the crack. I secured it with a long zip tie. It sealed the crack completely! Saved me having to buy a new pump!
I have used JB Weld products for many years. I have an outside hose bib with a crack and saw that JB also has a product called Water Weld for plumbing and water applications. What is amazing is that this is so easy to use, had a rapid dry and cure time and hold up to high pressure and is impervious to water. This is a huge savings as repairing yourself will eliminate the cost of a plumber. Definitely a win, win!
this putty set up really fast do had to wirk quickly but used it to seal seam at back of boat. have not put in water yet but hardened up really. will buy more to seal other seams. one drawback is using plastic gloves to mux abd apply. it was sticking to gloves.
This waterproof epoxy was used to repair a leak in my pool pump. I mixed it in my hand while wearing a disposable glove and immediately applied the mixture to the leak. The seal was practically instantaneous. The seal held up throughout the swimming season. No more leak!
Have used before . I have a house that's over 100 yrs old and I've Saved a call from the plumber twice by repairing a split pipe with this. Be sure you wear rubber gloves. I'm over 80, and I learned how to use it. It works much better with waterproof wrapping tape over the repair. It has lasted longer than 16 months and is still good.
We purchased this to fix a leak in a stock tank and we were under the impression that you could fix a leaky spot under water but that's evidently not how it works. We had to drain the tank, wait for it to dry, then appt the water weld…. The bad part about that is you won't know if that fixed it until you fill it back up and u fortunately for us it wasn't the only leaky spot. We had to drain the tank again… So, it really doesn't work very well for our needs.
The original JB Weld has always been my go-to for those repairs that need more than tape but not as much as actual welding. I tried this one, because of the name and found it much harder to work with, it was sticky and the colors were not as easily defined during the blending. It also took longer to set up.
