This starkist tuna available online at Walmart is a great bargain. I have not seen it available anywhere else. I will continue to purchase it. The items available online at Walmart are really better values compared to other online suppliers. They also arrive in great condition, not all dented and torn, which is common with you know who.
StarKist is a top brand of choice for me. It makes a great tuna salad sandwich. I add sweet pickle relish, diced onion, diced boiled eggs, a dash of yellow mustard %26 hot sauce, mayo, and whatever I want. Great on bread or Ritz crackers! I give it 5 stars!
I don't eat much tuna over concerns of mercury content that they ALL have to some degree these days. That being said, I love this tuna! I cook it ( I don't eat raw fish thank you) put a little onion, parsley, oregano and some organic avocado mayo in it, and it is very good. I have organic liquid chlorophyll I can take if I have concerns, it bunds to and eliminates heavy metals and toxins—I use the same thing to bind and eliminate the aflotoxins in the organic peanut butter I eat, they never have a chance to even be absorbed if you drink before or immediately afterwards. Still, I limit my consumption, but if I could, I would eat this every single day!
I order these multi packs often .They rarely send bent cans like some similar tube type packs which hide the damaged cans, so I give them the highest rating . I recommended them for a food storage pantry in Case of emergency or for a quick delicious snack anytime.
Mercury issues aside, I love this tuna, I'd eat tuna salad sandwiches for every meal every day.. that said, yes i gave my beloved star kist 4 stars. why? it's simple. this packaging. it's rage inducing trying to separate the 2nd, tough skin from those cans without using a knife and risking the fingers on the hand not holding said knife, and then, once you get them out of there finally... you have the finest in 1920 technology. everything else is a pull tab to open, why on earth do i still need a can opener for these tiny cans? and remember how hard getting these little cans in a can opener can be? let's get with the times Charlie the Tuna
I have bought this tuna several times, and it is very hit and miss. Sometimes it has large chunks of meat, but other times it is very mushy and runny and only about half of the can remains after draining the water. If I'm in the store, I lightly shake the cans and if they feel overly liquid, I select a different can or brand. The taste is good if there are chunks of meat, but more bland if mushy.
I have purchased this several times and everytime the cans were damaged, as the item was not packaged correctly. In some cases I had to have them send replacements. I canceled my subscription as this was an ongoing issue with this specific item.
overly watered down.. when i drained the water .. some of the tuna was lost do to draining the water.. happend with not just the first 4 i bought.. but another 4 pack my cousin also bought 3 weeks later.. .. if they say its all the same lot.. well guess the 3 weeks on a shelf tells u something then right.. I got this for my dog, just to add to his dry dog food for some added protein since he is a puppy and growing. He likes fish. This tune was like red in color, I wondered if it was cooked. And of course, it stank like tuna. But my dog liked it but I would never touch it.
Inedible slop. Floor scrappings from a fish processing plant. Not to mention there are scale bits and bones. I will no longer buy this for my cat. She left it uneaten most of the time anyways. Starkist should be ashamed to sell this as food fit for consumption. It isn't.
