Thankfully, I have not had to use it so I cannot comment on if it actually helps to retain heat. I can, however, discuss the packaging - which is solid. The package was very lightweight and compact, making it easy to put in your vehicles emergency kit, or with your first aid supplies when camping or hiking. As someone who is big into safety and always looking for ways to improve my current reserves - I cannot wait to purchase more of these emergency blankets because you never know when they'll come in handy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of those items that you hope to never need, but could save your life if you do. We had added it to our survival/first aid kit that I keep in my car and put in my backpack when hiking. A few weeks ago we were hiking in the snow and my husband slipped on an icy trail and twisted his knee. I couldn't get him back to our car alone on an icy trail, so I pulled this out to wrap around him while I went for help. This blanket kept him pretty warm in 25 degree weather while he waited about 15 minutes for me to return. I appreciated that it was bright orange, so he was very easy to spot. This is waterproof so he was able to sit on it and keep the snow from getting him too wet. I didn't expect that I would need to use it so quickly, but am so thankful that I had this. I recommend this for anyone who lives in a colder climate. You never know when you might need it.

If you get stuck on the side of the road with the snow it keep's you nice and warm and you can also use it as a shelter if you had to and keep the rain off of you or use it in your first aid kit incase you need it to put over some one. It's 90% Heat Reflective, windproof and waterproof and it's really durable..

This blanket is great for the car, great for camping or any other situations that emergency situations arise. This is intended to keep you warm and hopefully survive until help can get to you. Definitely good to have just in case. The outer portion looks like foil so it must be a thermal blanket

It comes in a small box, so it doesn't take up a lot of space. The blanket is a big size and works very well. It keeps you warm during an emergency. Everyone definitely needs one of these in their emergency kit, you never know when you will need it!

It is big enough to cover me so if I do get stranded and it’s cold out, I am comforted knowing that I have it in my car. Glad I was able to get this one.

It is packaged conveniently so I keep it in my glove box in case of emergency. We have come upon many auto accidents over the years and living in the northeast, it can be frigidly cold at times. We always carry emergency blankets in the car in case of accidents or if we get stranded, normal sized blankets. This is a great alternative and we are going to purchase many more to save space, do the job, and not have to worry about losing our blankets in the case of an accident. Recommend others do the same and do your part for our fellow humans!
