I can't exactly see or tell how effective they are but I trust Swanson products and I am not having any side effects.

I take this supplement to lower my cholesterol. After taking it for some months (can't remember exactly) my high cholesterol was greatly lowered and in an acceptable range. I will continue to take this supplement and would recommend it to anyone else who has elevated cholesterol - maybe it would work for them as well. Although it's quite big , the gelcap makes it very easy to swallow with a glass of water.

I really appreciate the dosing and high milligrams in one soft gel! I don't have to think about taking several throughout the day! This is a triple protection for so many different areas related to heart, brain and skin! It is a large soft gel so I did have to prepare myself before I took it but honestly it's not an issue anymore. I was getting a little reflux when I first started to take it, but on a suggestion from a friend I take it right before I eat a meal and it's worked like a charm. The price is great and I am very thankful when Swanson has this included in their bogo deals!

This is probably the most fishy fish oil capsule I have ever taken. You can smell the bottle immediately upon opening the cap, then pop a capsule into your mouth and immediately taste the fish oil. Some capsules have a reddish discoloration on the inside, although most are the typical golden color. I wonder why. Triple strength is good, although maximum benefit is obtained with a minimum of 1000 mg of combined EPA/DHA. Maybe a quadruple strength capsule is needed.

The last bottles my wife got are very fishy tasting and leaves a fish smell on her hands even. Kind of an old fish smell at that. Not sure we can order these again.
