This is my third season using theae Terro baits. They work well by minimizing flies/maggots in my outdoor trash can. i have never had success with the stick-on however I thread a couple of zip ties through a hole so it "dangles" but remains in the can. Otherwise very useful
Very effective in killing flies in the garbage can 3 seasons - it needs outdoor warmth to activate. Flies aren't an issue in the winter anyway…. Attachment is easy and the adhesive keeps the plug in place (I.e. doesn't fall off).
Had a huge issue with maggots and even after cleaning the can they came back. I scrubbed with bleach and stuck this on which is really sticky strong. So far no bugs
This worked miracles! My friend's trash can was over run with roaches, flies and maggots, after trash day we affixed this to the inside of the trash can. They left the can empty and when we opened it 3 days later to put trash in it, ALL insects were gone!
Living here in S. FL where it takes only a matter of moments before bugs seem to show up from nowhere, I was very happy to review this garbage guard from Terro. Terro is a name whose products we use now and trust because they Work! Right now we're in the so called cooler stages here but in a couple months when the hot humid weather arrives, that's when we have the most issues with our outdoor garbage can which we keep in our garage. Some scraps we have even frozen so not to attract "the swarm". I believe now that with Terro's garbage guard, we no longer will have to do that. I am hopeful anyway. I always read the ingredients and didn't recognize anything I was familiar with. This could not be easier to install. Simply peel the backing off of the enclosing mounting square and place on the back of the guard, peel off the other backing and stick to the underside of your can's lid. Easy as pie. Time will tell on how well it works and again, I May notice more when the weather is hotter. Each guard has a time released odorless vapor and is supposed to last up to 4 months. From my experience with other Terro products, I am quite confident in this working for us. Give it a try....
I placed this in the lid of a tall kitchen style garbage can which is in my workshop. The building also a dog kennel where my Labrador can come in from bad weather. So some food waste and other things (though I bag them) go in this can. It would draw small flying insects. No more! Whatever makes its way in is now history, thanks to the Garbage Guard!
This does a pretty good job of keeping the flys away. I have noticed that if there was a heavy garbage load it did not always keep all of the flies away, but most weeks this did the trick and kept the pesky bugs out.
we used these last year during the summer because we were having an issue with maggots on outside garbage cans...since using these we have not had any issues...so i think they work well...the only flaw is it needs to include double sided tape to put on inside of lid to keep in place
I have used this product in the past and it did a good job at keeping the flies and maggots away. I use a total of two of them in my outside garbage can in the past. Recently I used one terro gaurd in my garbage and it didn't work at all! Maggots and flies were in my garbage every time I went outside .I'm not sure if I got an old product or if they have changed their product, or maybe I need two like last time...I will NOT be purchasing this product again. I dont have money to waste on products they may or may not work.
I mounted it according to the directions and still it fell off the lid. When I went to retrieve it it was covered in maggots and dead flies so I think it's safe to say that it doesn't work
