Thatcher Kitchen Cart, White

I bought this to have a place to work with my kids in the kitchen. We love it and have put it to great use while baking to enjoying a morning cup of coffee while reading the paper. My only suggestion would to reinforce the drop leaf better. I do have kids and this part makes me nervous at times as it's not to sturdy. Over all great product.

Looks great. A couple of the pre-drilled holes were out of line and had to re-do them and the screw covers do not really fit in the holes properly. The way the top is attached is unstable so I had to add a couple of additional brackets to keep it stable. Minor adjustments to have a really nice cart.

This cart is great! It is good quality & a great price. It was pretty easy to put together, it took me (30 year old female) a little under 3 hours to put together by myself. All you need is a screwdriver & hammer. I love that the spice rack & towel bar can be switched and the drop leaf is also a great feature. It rolls nicely & is functional without taking up a ton of space. Perfect for more storage & counter space!

Got this for my mom's kitchen and we all love it! My husband and I put it together in just two hours. Directions were easy to follow. It's sturdy and attractive. One of my moms friends came over and was admiring it and said she had recently gotten one similar but paid several hundred dollars more :-(

A MUST HAVE for any small space! This kitchen island has far exceeded my expectations in quality and versatility; having joined the "less is more" movement, while still being able to entertain and cook. Recently divorced and retired, I moved to Florida wanting to downsize and start my new life uncluttered. This island is a great bang for the buck; solidly made, perfect for smaller spaces and equally functional. I was able to assemble this on my own, however, I would recommend (as stated in the instructions), the help of another person. Happily cooking and entertaining!

I am happy with my purchase but putting it together was a nightmare. You definitely need 3 people when you get to like step 5 because holding the flimsy pieces together while trying to use dowels and screws at the same time while it keeps coming apart is very frustrating. The finished product looks nice but has a funny smell and doesn't seem very sturdy. I don't think it will last for years and years, but for the price it's good.

extremely difficult to put together...the wooden pegs are much smaller than the holes they go in thus fall out when assembly...when assembled it is real loose...going to put little metal braces around all the sides, bottoms and tops of main structure... had I kept the boxes before assembling we would have sent it back which is a shame, for it is a well designed unit and beautifully painted. probably something Wal-Mart should have had a previewing of before offering to customers. next time we are going to go to Raw Furniture and finish whatever we buy

It took my husband and I about 3 hours to build this kitchen cart (FYI we're experts at assembling furnitures). It's definitely a 2-person job but at one point, we had to get our 10-year-old son to hold one of the frame pieces to connect the dowels. Wood glue is a must because the dowels are too narrow/small. Everything is wood except for the bottom of the drawers and the back side of the cart which are cardboard pieces (or a very very thin plywood). I feel like the cart is overpriced. It looks like one of those furnitures you get from Ikea. I paid almost $300 for it but in my opinion, I think it should cost around $150 or maybe less. It's too shiny, you can't see the wood grain, the butcher block doesn't look solid. It looked like everything was laminated. I have it in white but maybe black would have been a better choice. FYI, the cart is 53" long with the towel holder and the spice rack. Without it, it's only 43" long. Please update the description.

Within 10 minutes of starting to put it together, the heads of three screws broke off while trying to attach the wheels. Then my husband noticed that two of the doors to the drawers were beat up and put together crooked. Needless to say, it's going back. Save your money and pass.

I am very good at assembling items like this; however whoever designed the assembly procedures did so with at least three helpers in mind. There should be more cam locks in the assembly. Pieces held together by dowels in very loose oversize holes move all around causing one to repeatedly try to get the many unsecure pieces to fit before screwing them together, especially in steps 5 through 8. And, in step 4 (attaching hinges to the bottom of the top panels), I attached the middle hinge first. Every pilot hole for the screws was badly misaligned so that every screw went in at an angle and did not seat properly in the countersunk hole in the hinge. For the other two hinges, I had to relocate and drill new pilot holes. Next time, I WILL spend a little more money and buy an item like this pre-assembled. Very frustrating!
