The Last Starfighter (Blu-ray)

This is an all-time best movie ever made.

this was cutting edge... still is more entertaining and enjoyable than most movies coming out of Hollywood

This classic of science fiction has action, romance. aliens, video games, and the coolest CGI that the 1980s had to offer! (Plus Robert Preston! Who, in this motion picture at least, wasn't a conman from Gary Indiana but a conman from The Star League in the outer regions of space.) If you've never seen it, grab this 25th Anniversary Blu Ray edition! You won't be sorry...

Solid sci-fi that is very much a product of its time. Definitely worth a look.

must see this movie, its a classic.

Nice looking blu-ray. Clean. The Good: like the new “the abyss” 4k it looks like it was filmed yesterday with very few imperfections. It looks brand new and fresh for modern film watchers. This is one of my favorite movies watching probably 30 times as a kid. It's definitively got UNIVERSAL's typical clean release written all over it. The bad: read above. For real purist film lovers you will hate this transfer. The picture is scrubbed clean of all pre existing grain to the point it's almost fuzzy. Skin tons are waxy for an 80's 35mm filmed movie. Again it looks like it was filmed yesterday on a digital camera and it's pretty atrocious. If it was actually filmed yesterday I'd have a different opinion aboit it, but UNIVERSAL is notorious for scrubbing the **** out of some of their most memorable films, this, “planes trains and automobiles”, Waterworkd and the like. I'm just glad they didn't ruin the 35th anniversary of back to the future. The 30th was awful with almost zero film grain. They would be well off to get James Cameron and he use AI to further ruin their films. While I will keep this blu ray in my collection I'm looking forward to the arrow release blu ray and 4k as arrow is known for preserving film the way it should be with noise and grain so it looks like a classic and not like marvel.

A little hokie considering how far CG special effects have come since this movie (25 years), but still a good story and some feel good actors. A great job by actors Robert Preston (Centauri) and Dan O'Herlihy (Grig). Sort of a cult movie, but not really.

The service was fine, no trouble there. The movie was better when I saw it so long ago, now its terrible, corney. I will give it away.
