Was a little tricky to assemble because of the power drill to make holes in the handle (which we skipped). But...is it better than a shovel, absolutely yes and lightweight and sturdy. Just if we could drill those screws in the handle, the handle wouldn't rotate which it does now. Nevertheless a great equipment.
Exactly what I wanted it to be, and a game changer. We have a huge driveway, and our 30" pusher made clearing the snow a big job. I got to use the new 48" yesterday for a couple of inches, and was done lickety-split! Lower marks for the handle because for a pusher, our 30" has a better one that can be held on the sides for better use of arms.
This shovel was recommended by my neighbor who owns rental properties and uses them for snow removal. They did a great job on my sidewalk as a favor and I liked how easy the shovel was to use and am impressed at how easy the snow was moved. Great product at a premium price and well worth it! Walmart did a great job getting it to me quickly too. Great store and easy to order.
There's a reason why all the snow contractors in my area use these. Little pricey but made in USA and very high quality. I have no doubt this shovel will outlive me. Fast shipping, love that you can replace parts if somehow you do manage to damage it.
The SnowPlow is the best thing I've ever used to push snow. Easy to assemble and very(!) solid construction. Snow does not stick to the blade, which easily moves across concrete (both smooth concrete [driveway] and pebbled/textured concrete [porch and patio]). This item has saved me a ton of time and effort this winter in clearing snow...I barely use/need my other shovels now. I'm not giving it 5* because it is not perfect--but then, nothing is. The blade could be a couple inches little taller (to help move more volume at one time). And I wish the handle were the type that you could use two hands to push. That said, you won't find anything better for your buck, in my opinion. I would 100% purchase again.
It is sturdy made of quality materials and likely to last a long time. It works best as a pusher but for that the underlying pavement needs to be level and smooth (the promotion never mentioned that). If the pavement is irregular you need to move the snow one scoop at a time and this snow shovel is heavier than most, meaning you will get very tired since this shovel is 2 or 3 times heavier than many other snow shovels. Also concerning is that the scoop itself is tilted forward, meaning you have to stoop lower to pick up each shovel full or it will simply slide off the scoop when you pick it up. For me this contributed to a very sore lower back.
the product is great. the only downside is they used Fedex to ship it to me and fedex in thia area is the worst delivery service. they delayed my delivery 2 times due to weather and the weather was fine. i could have driven to the store it shipped from and been home in approximately 2 hours. instead it took 3 days to ship to me.
I ordered this item because I heard such good reviews for light snow removal. Received it within a week, which was fine. As I open the box to assemble it, I realize that there was no hardware. Recommendation would be a quality control check before shipping.
The Pusher does not like cracked payment the blade will not go over it. I would not recommend a blade bigger than 30inch, too hard to push. I use it on a dusting to 3 inches on my driveway, when it gets to hard to push, make a row and use the snow blower to get rid of the pile and then continue on doing the same process. Make it easy for yourself!
This thing is bit, and it's also very heavy, not easy to use. Lifting it is something you will have to get used to, and don't expect to lift it with the load of snow. This plow is really for plowing, not lifting. One thing that is a cheap move is making the bracket for connecting handle to the plow a plastic piece. Guess what will happen if you are pushing the snow and hit a hard object with a far side of the plow? Plastic brakes! For a strong handle and a large plow surely an aluminum bracket would be a smart choice.
