I bought this to use when I smoked a large turkey for Thanksgiving. It was very easy to setup and pair to my phone. I really like having the stand alone base that can transmit the temps from both process to my phone via their app. if I was inside, I could open the app and instantly see the temperature on the probes. While sitting outside by the grill, I could easily just look at the base unit to see the temps. It worked great and the smoked turkey was amazing!

But it, you'll be happy

Tony May 11, 2026

Got today. Great temp prob. has preprogrammed temps for different things, but you can custom add temps. Bluetooth straight to you phone and can read over 600ft away. Has a light one the display so you can ready it my last one you couldn't see the display unless holding at a certain angle and even then hard to read. this one is perfectly able to see

You'll be happy you got it.

Lifesaver, I can put my chicken or beef on and have the thermometer send an alert to my phone when it reaches the target temperature excellent product at a great price. Great for those low and slow cooks so that you don't have to constantly open the smoker and drop your heat.

Wish I had had this before

Louis November 14, 2025

My first attempt at smoking a pastrami on the offset smoker resulted in an overcooked and dry brisket. After watching videos to find out what the problem was, I found that the thermometer on the grill is way on top, and the temperature difference from top to bottom is about 100 degrees or more. Slow smoking a brisket requires a steady 250 degrees. My top thermometer was saying 250 degrees, but on the grill it was actually only maybe 100 degrees. This was the cause of me overcooking it. I had a little thermometer probe to test the internal temperature, and I needed to get it to 160 degrees, but I went way over the cooking time. This little thermometer has two probes that are about 4 feet long and are heat resistant. I plugged one into the meat to measure internal temperature and another on the grill to measure the temperature of the grill. Sure enough, I had to stoke the fires of the smoker to get it up to 500 degrees or more to at least get the grill temperature to 190 degrees. I finally got the internal temperature of the brisket to the desired 160 degrees in the normal time of 3 to 4 hours for a 3-pound brisket. Then, I wrapped it in butcher paper and cooked in in the inside oven at 350 degrees until the internal temperature reached 205 degrees. After turning off the oven and leaving it in the oven overnight, I tried cutting it the next morning. It was juicier than my previous brisket. The thermometer had done its job Another aspect of this thermometer is that it has an app that you can download to your phone. The included unit works outside showing the temperature of the two probes, but the app also shows the temperatures on my phone, which I can watch inside while watching a movie. Pretty cool.

Great thermometer choice

Lyle233844 February 20, 2026

I LOVE this thing! It was a life saver and a game changer! The app is great, the battery lasts long, i wish it had a magnet built into the back, but otherwise it's a very great thermometer! And the ease of use with the Walmart app and the speedy delivery, made sure my dinner was smoked to perfection.

I had a bit of an issue downloading the app to my phone , but I think that was my issue . I made a couple of beef roast for a group luncheon. both turned out perfect. this weekend I'll make a smoked brisket. i think that will be the 18hr trial by smoke . the alarm went off at the exact temp and made cooking easier. no opening the stove and probing , letting out heat out . better heat control , keeping in moisture

Disappointing Quality~Device Cant Handle High Heat

Kerry January 23, 2026

am disappointed w/ the build Quality of this ThermoPro TP920W. While it is marketed for use around high-heat environments, the back stand melted during normal use. I believe a product designed for cooking should have already native heat resistance built into its components. Even after I took the EXTRA step of purchasing /using additional heat shield material to protect the unit, the device still suffered "meltdown." A consumer should not have to purchase 3rd-party materials to fix an inherent design flaw. I expected better heat-resistant engineering from a brand like ThermoPro. I cannot recommend this model if you plan on using it near any significant heat source.

I am not a fan of raw chicken

melissa November 23, 2025

Does not give an accurate temperature. 1 probe will say something is done when it's still raw while the other probe reads closer to temperature. The device doesn't reach far either, so you'll want to stay close to the grill to monitor if you use this. I returned this item.

Dusti May 26, 2026

Out of the packaging it did not work. I downloaded the app, followed all instructions, even charged it up. As soon as I plugged the probes in, it measured “HHH.” This means it is too hot to measure or out of temp range. So I adjusted and created custom ranges for what I was about to cook. Nothing helped this to actually work. Essentially, it was saying the ambient temperature in my home was at least 160 degrees. I will return this item and purchase one elsewhere.

Work great once, not any more!

Jerry February 18, 2025

This thing is a piece of junk. Worked once and then it did not. Probes are too long and heavy. One probe is 7 degrees off the other probe. When cooking fish the probe lays down because of the length and weight and does not give a true temp reading. I have tried putting the probes in different ways and still get false readings and over cooked foods. I have ruined 6 of the 7 meals wasting money. I am sending it back and will never buy this brand again. Do not buy this product!
