Western Premium BBQ Apple BBQ Cooking Chunks, 500 Cubic inch

Today we grilled meats using this. It was difficult to get started. It took 30 minutes to get lit using a torch. Once going, it smoked alot. It's more for small bonfires. It ashed easily and caused alot of soot more than the end of a bonfire. It's quite expensive for the amount you get. Perhaps next time i shall try the wood chips instead.

As a long time smoker of ribs and chicken i have mostly used hickory chips. i was reading about fruit woods and chunks and gave this a try. i soak this wood 1st then add to my hot coals. it gives a great smoky flavor but is more mild in flavor and gives me no heartburn like hickory can sometimes. i also love the chunks. they last longer then chips and are so easy to throw 1 or 2 chunks on the coals that provide a long time of smoke. i highly recommend to beginners or long time smokers.

These are made by the same company that makes B%26B Charcoal, which means they're the best. I always get the apple and cherry from them because B%26B doesn't have small chunks like this. They leave behind a great flavor on any meat you cook them with.

Great product. Was use to either buying the expensive bags that didnt have enough, or wait for a delivery of a box of wood. This is a great product for great price. Burned great.

It's moderately sized chunks of applewood which I'm using to blend with charcoal and smoke. It does the smoking thing and it makes the meat taste gooder so... get it if you need it.

I use this to smoke a couple of chicken. I have a barrel smoker. I had to break the product up using a hatchet. I do prefer to water soak, so I like smaller pieces. Having it boxed up like this made it super easy to use. They stack well when you have several varieties. I got it at a very good price point. The end result, the birds had good flavor. The product worked as I expected it to. I will get more from this brand when I need to.

This product is ok it takes a long time to get clean smoke. It gives a light apple flavor to the food not as strong as other brands I have used . Overall it's an ok product wouldn't recommend it though

"CHUNKS" WAY TOO BIG FOR SMOKER BOX. HAVE BOUGHT 'CHUNKS ALSEWHERE.. THOUGHT 2-4"... BUT MANY ARE OVER 6 INCHES. WILL NEED TO CUT THEM DOWN TO SIZE.

Specs say you will receive 6.75 pounds of wood chunks. actual amount for the 500 cu box is 5.5 lbs. This was a consistent "short" by about 20% on 4 boxes I bought - Cherry, Pecan and Apple.

I bought this for Father's Day. It showed 2 different packs . One was $9.00 and this one shown was $32.00…. Wasn't sure what the difference was…… one said 500 sq. And this one says 590 sq. So I figured I would buy both . 9 dollar one came first …. When the 32 dollar one came I opened box and it is the same exact thing that was 9 dollars . So I returned the $32 and still have not received a refund for it . Returned July 3
