Thyme & Table Stainless Steel Potato Masher, Blue

I haven't used it yet. But it is exactly like the one I have used for fifty years. I am getting a little worried the handle on it might break soon. So luckily Walmart had this one for my backup and this one bends flat for storage.

Love the fact that it folds up so takes less room in the already too full drawer! Worked great for mashing raspberries for jam.

The handle fits in my hand nicely without slipping. The base flips into place with ease. The color of the handle is very stylish and fits with my kitchen decor.

Concave grate makes it hard to do its job.

It works well, I just have a problem with how easily it clicks out of place when you're trying to use it. I appreciate that it can turn into a sleek tool to fit better in a drawer but not helpful when you go to press down on potatoes and it keeps flipping.

I was disappointed that a warning label on this potato masher said it could caused cancer and reproductive harm. This warning was not included in the Walmart specifications. Assuming that the cancer warning pertained to the plastic handle, I used a screwdriver to remove it from the functional metal part of the potato masher. I threw away the plastic handle. The metal part of the masher works fine without a handle. I do like the feature which helps the masher store more-or-less flat. However I do not recommend this product because of the cancer and reproductive harm warning.

I tried to mash a small microwaved squash and it didn't do anything. It has a curved bottom and squash was just kind of stuck in the holes and it was very hard to mash. I donated it. I ordered one that had rods in stead of holes and it works great

The only good thing about this is that it is collapsible. Unfortunately, that is also its downfall. Due to the ability to collapse, as you use it it shifts around and doesn't really mash anything besides whatever is in the immediate center of it, unless you kind of rock it more. It's very frustrating to use. I only used it a couple of times in the past 3 months and it broke. One of the side screws just popped out while using it and fell into my food. I do not recommend this product at all.

It collapses when you go to use it if you don't push straight down on it. Which is impossible. If you teeter to the right or left, it collapses/folds and doesn't smash the potatoes at all. It's terrible. I was really hoping for an easier-to-store masher but this isn't it. :(

i love the idea of this being able to fold flat. that's literally all there is to love. as you mash, this bends all over and doesn't make it through potatoes. i attempted to mash ~maybe~ a pound of potatoes with this thing and got so aggravated that i switched to a fork. when i tell you, you'll be less frustrated mashing TEN POUNDS of potatoes with a fork than you would using this tool, i mean it. any amount of pressure you use to mash potatoes is thwarted by this $7 piece of garbage bending all over the place. dont buy this.
