The tools in this set seem like they should work to safely remove a tick. That said, I bought the set to have on hand but actually hope to never have to use it. I have never had a tick on myself and in nearly 40 years of dog ownership have only twice had to deal with a tick on a dog, the second time more than 20 years ago. Now I'm prepared for something I hope doesn't happen.

The method is cumbersome, but after researching, it is the best method. Good metal tools with a nice kit. And the directions fit into the kit. Be sure you have a jar to place the tick, where it can't escape, until you can destroy the tick. They carry a lot of diseases, and you don't want it out where it can crawl back on you, or make more babies to crawl on you. You have to cut it in half, or cut off the head. You can also put it in a ziplock baggie to do this, without taking the risk of it getting loose in your house.

I did not get the item. It said it was delivered, but it never arrived. It was scheduled to be delivered on 06/03 when I tracked the order on 05/31. Then on 06/01 I get a text that it was delivered. I opened my door to get the item and it was not there. Called Walmart, said sometimes they note it delivered and to check again at 8 pm. It was not there. I would like a refund.
