We had a ten inch skillet by the same manufacturer but we needed a larger one for frying hamburger meat. I probably should have ordered a 12 inch as this 14 inch skillet is huge. However, it accomplishes everything I need it to.
great pan great value, i have a few of them now. non stick works good. my other ones have held up for a few years with weekly use and still going. i never put em in the dish washer nor use abrasive sponges. i dont care what they claim they are capable of. This 14 inch is too large for a dishwasher anyway. hoping it lasts like the smaller versions I have. 14 inches is a great size for making breakfast for a few people without having to place items on a warmer. I can do eggs for 4 people and pretty much dish right from the pan to their plates in one go, then warm up all the bacon and sausage in one go and do the same in just a couple of minutes before the eggs cool. Or the otherway around. Almost like a medium round griddle.
This is probably my 4th skillet of this. Not because they did not last, but because my husband likes to use metal utensils on it and let's face it - once you start using metal on these types of pans, they begin to chip. I love the 14" base of it. I can really load this skillet up with no problem. It is my only "teflon like" pan that I own - and I know full well that I will be replacing it within a couple of years, which is fine. I love the size of it. It is restaurant grade and very heavy duty.
Great skillet just like all the other Tramontina products! i own a set of their cookware but needed a larger skillet and this does the job perfectly. Easy to use, simple to clean up and the nonstick coating is great.
Very heavy pan (this is a good thing). Truly non-stick after seasoning. Very flat bottom and very even heat distribution. I'm only using medium heat (gas range) but it cooks like it's on high. Walmart's price was the lowest, by far, for this item anywhere on the internet. Arrived quickly and with zero damage.
Great small skillet, use it most mornings for individual breakfast needs. Even heating, handle is balanced perfectly and enjoy cooking with it.
Had a slight dent on the side of the pan. Pan is good size frying pan. Easy to control cooking heat.
I was hoping the pan was thick enough to distribute heat evenly, not warp thus avoid distributing the cooking oil around the center of the heated surface. That was not the case, the pan warps upon heating thus causing the cooking oil to drain off of the center of the pan and accumulate around the center.
I ordered this from Walmart based on positive reviews of the item. The website is confusing in that you are not sure if you are ordering from Walmart or some other vendor. I changed address on website, but evidently did not take, so item was sent to my old address. Additionally, the same night I ordered the item, my credit card was compromised and a fraudulent purchase of over $400 was charged at a Walmart in Mississippi - over 1200 miles away! I had to cancel that card - so overall, not a good experience.
2 skillets and 2 returns. I've had one until I wore it out, but the original purchase arrived damaged (badly dented), opted for the exchange and got the same thing... dented. My original has been through many years and many moves and if not for the Teflon would still be a great pan. These two were obviously inferior material. Very disappointed because I LOVED my old skillet!!
